The written name of this band on their albums is insane... hard enough to read in normal print then they go and turn it into the typical metal style font to eliminate all hope of potential readability.

Me either. I've never been a big fan of his playing, Not a big neo-classical guy myself. Gets very boring very quickly imo. At this point, how many more fast classically-inspired scales can he put to tunes? :D

Nervosa is probably the best all female metal band that I've ever heard. They sound kind of like some version of Coroner/Sodom, which is awesome.

I'm kind of digging the track from Earthship as well - reminds me of Mastodon circa Leviathan and Blood Mountain.

The Bat album sounds like some kickass old school thrash too. Its got a real Kill Em All vibe.

Looking forward to Dark Funerals stuff. Its been for ever since they released anything.

Yeah last album was in 2009, so it has been a while. I believe that they have a new dude on vocals, so we'll see how that goes.

Dark Funeral.

honestly I have a mixed feelings with Dark Funeral, I either Like one album or dislike another

Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus was incredible. But prior to that I was still stuck on 'The Secrets of the Black Arts'.. Couldn't listen to anything after that.. Then Angelus came and changed that.

for those interested, there's finally some audio available for the Paradox album. For those unfamiliar Paradox is an old power/thrash/speed group that started in the late 80s. For me the new stuff just doesnt live up to classics like 1989's Heresy

Didnt include them. I checked out some audio from their new album and it rated too high on the rock-o-meter. I generally try to keep heavy metal and hard rock acts out of this thread. Other than that, those are about the only things I filter out.
