It's not "metal", but shout-out to our very own @Randbo who released a first EP on bandcamp this month.

This is pretty good.

Yeah. I'm digging that track. Going to find some more and see if I want to pick up the album.

April is upon us! What's everyone diggin?

The new Moonsorrow is good, but for me doesn't have the same atmosphere as 'Varjoina kuljemme kuolleiden massa'. Still worth a listen.

Very much looking forward to the new Fallujah album.

Not sure if this counts as an April release, but the new Amon Amarth album 'Jomsviking' is pretty good. Has an incongruously slick production job and is pretty cheesy.

Yeah a lot of folks are pretty hyped. I know @Logan is starting to get antsy :D

That was released on 3/25, so its in the March version of this thread.

Hm... Ihsahn have a new album... Interesting...
I am kind of disappointed by him since Emperor was over... But what the hell... I shall find it...

The only other track I was able to find so far (on YT) was this one

I agree, been enjoying it myself.

Came here to say again that the new Moonsorrow is killer. It's the perfect album to just zone out to.

waiting to hear more of the new Beholder album. Might end up picking it up. I like prog stuff though :D

Speaking of zoning out or chill-out music. The new Bossk album is quite interesting. Its a strange combination of atmospheric melodic instrumentals and heavy stoner/doom tracks. Only gone through the first 4-5 tracks, but I might decide to pick it up if I end up liking the rest.

...
Man, i miss Emperor... You can tell by my icon, but god damn, this has nothing to even compare with Emperor... I am sad now.

Perhaps he got bored with things and wanted to try something different. Just sucks when this happens to bands you really like and you don't like the new direction lol

Ihsahn hurts my heart, because he performs Emperor songs a lot alive even though he's supposed to be performing his solo work.

I wouldn't mind one more album, but then again I don't think they should. Emperor is going to down in the black metal history books. no need to ruin that record.

He basically creates his own stuff now. He wanted to drag Emperor in this more technical style, while Trym and Samoth, they wanted more power and heavier sound, so they created Zyklon. And they both suck. Zyklon had some interesting stuff, but then they got too sh*tty...

They should never get back together. I still love them, and it breaks my heart to listen to Ihsahn now, but they should never get back together...

That's the reason why I don't want a new album as much as I would like one. (kinda dumb to say)

Prometheus was a great album, but you could see Ihsahn didn't want to do Black Metal anymore. a lot of the "OG"s of Black Metal or at least who paved the way for the genre don't want to do it anymore. which kinda sucks cause I'm sure people would buy it.

if Fenriz would do a live Darkthrone show in this day and age, he'd be rich. ESPECIALLY considering he hasn't performed live since Transilvanian Hunger.

I am going to say something, that may make some people angry at me, but i don't like Darkthrone. Really, my main Black Metal band is Emperor...
As far as Prometheus goes - i love the album. Many people dislike it for the reason of going away from the black metal emperor was known for, but still, i love it. I expected Ihsahn's stuff to sound similar to Prometheus, and Trym's and Samoth's - more like "In the nightside eclipse" or "IX Equilibrium" or whatever...
Ah well... Still Emperor gave us quite a few albums.

Which is one of the reasons I would like an Emperor album, but at the same time I don't want them to come back together. Emperor went out with a Bang.

Darkthrone on the hand they fell off after the Panzerfaust Album. and even though they continued making album, if Darkthrone would of ended after Panzerfaust they would most definitely be compared to Emperor in terms of greatness, despite Darkthrone coming first.
