Hey guys, new here to the forum. need yall to catch me up! over the years i've grown away from metal, listening to a variety of trance and alternative ( though i still like my occasional classical/orchestra! ). Here are some bands that i use to heavily listen to back in high school: Extol, Sletchvalk, Nodes of Ranvier, Renascent, Vokavandarine, Holy Blood, Clemency. In case you guys don't recognize those bands, my genres of choice are: black metal ( progressive black metal even further ), metalcore, and rarely some death metal. i don't usually like mainstream ( examples: cradle of filth, mastadon, er, uh, god it's been so long i can't even think of other mainstream metal bands ). note: i did not list slipknot in the mainstream category because i don't listen to hard rock. so, without overwhelming me what are some bands and possiblely song titles that i can check out. my main genre is black metal, so lets start with that. ( and if YOU listen to these three songs you'll get a quick n dirty idea of my preference: Extol - Burial / Renascent - Son of God / Sletchvalk - Inparidisum, could be wrong on spelling here, been a while ). thanks guys, already very happy i found a group of people who like metal stouts and gaming.

Panopticon - One Cold Night - wasn't feelin it, Ihsahn - Frozen Lakes on Mars - can't get it to playbon my phone, Motionless in White - A.M.E.R.I.C.A. - pretty good, not entirely my forte but was a nice listen, Apostasy - Sulphur Injection - diggin it, will check out more of their songs when i have time, Mirrorthrone - The Fecal Rebellion - also cannot get it to play on my phone.
i realized that was a bad example for slechtvalk, since it's a more melodic song. if you're up for it, check out slechtvalk - enthroned, or/also the falcon's flight ( it's an instrumental ). i particularly remember liking some black metal from norway, just can't for the life of me remember the bands.
also please note, in high school i was pretty religious so the stuff i listened to was either christian black metal, or middle ground ( such as extol and slechtvalk ). however i am far from that scene, so don't worry on what you link, just putting it out there if you got confused by the trend. ( also sorry for the lack of links, operating quickly on my windows phone isn't as intuitive as i'd like )

The first and last are both pretty good. I gotta say though "Groping in a Misty Spread" sounds very VERY dirty.
