So… I am embarking on a SUPER AMBITIOUS project. I eventually want to produce my own Pi Pico wifi Security Camera… no cloud shares no weird crap, directly to a self hosted server. I’m hoping to implement wireguard or similar encryption for the wifi signal. I want to do a battery pack and Solar charger. This is a super ambitious project for me as a novice of both electronics and programming. I want to do it but I’m not sure it’ll see fruition.
I will be starting with a kit for pi 4 to explore it’s functionality first see image here:

Was discussing in the lounge that I’ve noticed a marked uptick in what I call YouTube’isms in recent videos. Rapid shifts back and forth in camera angles, distance going back and forth. I’ve attempted to be neutral in the option terms and just called this category of thing “whizzy edits”. Though I myself am not neutral, I find it distracting and I think L1 viewers are pre-selected for longer attention spans and I like how different L1 videos are to most content these days. But with something like this you don’t know if you’re just one weird person and you’re being rude or if you’re just the first person to speak up. So a nice poll will find out.

I remember when I saved that Tiefling girl from the druids, and after talking to her father I was really impressed with that actor’s performance. You could actually see and feel the love for his daughter and how he hasn’t yet processed that she could have died.
There is unavoidable racism, genocide, violence and all other nice things like that in this game and that’s OK - we are grownups who can deal with that.
Githyanki especially strike me as such, and then at some point you may have to deal with Vlaakith - a ruthless ruler and leader of Githyanki. Who uses politically correct personal pronouns. It felt so out of character, so out of place, so… forced.
Is out of place PCness taking away from the game?
Its a fantasy game, so I’ll allow it because it is fantasy.
One thing I find a little too much that is immersion breaking is that I encounter a lot of females actively participating in the armed conflict, as a soldier or even as a bandit. Even in fantasy, I find it hard to believe that women will participate in those kinds of activities.
Maybe Brienne of Tarth was the best portrayal of women in armed conflict, because it fits her. Women in the Witcher games and novels (not the Netflix crap) is pretty much how I imagine female spellcasters will actually portray themselves, apart from the overt Geralt shagging.
