Gigabyte MW34SP0 Motherboard

Is someone already planning the group buy? I dont want to crash into anything, but I could give one of my trusted vendors a mail and see if I can get a few of them.

I saw that wendell was tagged, so I dont want to crash into anything that might be already in the making.

Sign me up for the group buy, but let’s try to get the model with the onboard 10GbE NIC!

Haven’t seen or heard any groupbuy/kickstarter/etc. as of yet been checking the forums and video Wendell mentioned about a possible group buy. I have also contacted gigabyte USA for pricing/procurement and nobody picks up the phone or returns a voicemail or reply’s to an email.

They are keeping the motherboard behind some esoteric secret passphrase. :grimacing:

I’d also be very interested in a group buy if/when something materializes.

It seems that the fan doesn’t want to accept the settings. Maybe it gets blocked by hardware?

FYI, I just called my Distributor, he said theres only 3 legitimate sources of these boards within europe, one of these is his own warehouse, and all 3 are out of stock. We started a request at Gigabyte directly, but he said, dont get your hopes up, because its most likely not in stock and maybe not in production due to 13th Gen Intel Core CPUs and the probability of a second revision of this board.

I’m thinking about pairing this board with a 13600K, so that’s good to know! Thanks for the info.

Just to state something 100% clear here. There is nothing official or unoffical that would indicate a REV 2.0 of this Board, this is just a personal assumption, backed by nothing then some general advice, someone has to give. Gigabyte nor anybody else confirmed anything, started rumors or something. I may have choosen wrong words, just to put them into perspective.

I’m using this board with the 12600K and its rocking fast!

Thanks for clarifying that your statement was assumption.

In an email with Gigabyte, I received the following:

The Intel Raptor lake 13th Gen will be supported on MW34-SP0.

Since it’s “will be”, I’d take that to mean a firmware update will be required.

My Distri mailed me today. He had no luck even getting one board.
He said Gigabyte has probably to produce more boards and he is estimating them to be available somewhere in Q1 to Q2 2023.

Thats it from my side, im sorry that I couldnt help you with this.

@hardcore or anyone else with MW34SP0 board,

Can you post the IOMMU groups?

For example: List IOMMU Groups and the connected USB Devices · GitHub

My attempt to make a dual 25g trueNAS with an older Supermicro x12 board is currently blowing up in my face. I would also like to participate in the group buy.

Just a heads up to everyone on this thread, there are a lot of intel Optane nvme devices being blown out by Newegg right now. Some highlights are the p1600x and 905p models. As soon as I can get my hands on this motherboard I’ve got myself all the Optane devices a person could need.

And as a second heads up to everyone here (if you are in the USA) clicking the contact sales button on gigabytes website will put you in touch with someone in Taiwan (I think) that can sell you a board. They quoted me $580 for a single board along with ~$80 for shipping. Unfortunately, as soon as I provided my address they have not finalized the shipping costs… but this does seem to be the only viable outlet to obtain this product right now.

On a third note, the list of qualified devices for this board is pretty impressive, lots of Intel networking cards that my crappy Supermicro X12sca-5f motherboard will just freeze and fail to boot with.

Do we know if a rev2.0 is in the works? When will this board be able to support the Intel 13700k?

@coffeeoops Did you get this resolved? I was considering a combination like this… X12SAE(-F) and ECC DDR5…

I’m seeing the P1600X 58GB for $40 and the 118GB for $76. @wendell is this the liquidation event you were expecting?

yes, though I have also asked for a 4-pack at an even bigger discount… we’ll see lol

I guess I’ll try again then. Did that twice no response. Called Gigabyte directly and no one picked up. Called the operator and they redirected me to some department, to which a guy said, “I’ll take your name down and forward your request”. Which brought nothing and no further contact

Did you do anything special in contacting Giga? I might as well just wait for our fearless leader Wendel to do a group buy at this point though.
