I really like the power concepts in that show
Yeah it is pretty interesting for some reason I really get vibes of Blood Blockade Battlefront from this show.
Supersonic monkeys, vampires, talking fishmen, and all sorts of different supernatural monsters living alongside humans—this has been part of daily life in Hellsalem's Lot, formerly known as New York City, for some time now. When a gateway between...

Ahhhhh, i have this thread set to watching so i couldn’t tell it was a direct reply to me.
Definitely have the same feel but Bungou is more on the dramatic side. I welcome the similarity as BBB is one of my favorite recent animes (seriously the first season finale is so good).

A week later and…It’s here
Summary
The world of Tales of Demons and Gods is a world overrun by hordes of demon beasts. To defend themselves from demon beasts, humans live in isolated colonies and rely on cultivation techniques to boost their fighting powers. The story follows the protagonist Nie Li, given a second chance, has been reborn as his past self. Armed with the knowledge of efficient cultivation methods and the world, Nie Li prepares himself and his peers in preventing the destruction of Glory City.
What I was reading before
Before reading Tales of Demons and Gods, the majority of manga I had been following were popular Shonen Jump series such as Naruto, One Piece, and Shokugeki No Soma. In my first readthrough of Tales of Demons and Gods, it was a new experience with a different premise, characters, world building, and power structure.
What makes it different?
The premise
The premise is differs from Jump series in that the main character is reborn into their past self. With knowledge of his past life, Nie Li is more experienced compared to adult characters. This experience is demonstrated when Nie Li corrects and embarasses his teacher in the first couple of chapters. The appeal of Nie Li is not development of his character, but rather the techniques and items to speed his development into an overpowered protagonist. With the knowledge of his past life, we also watch how Nie Li will change the future.
Character introductions and motivations
On the topic of changing the future, the way characters are presented and developed differ from Naruto and One Piece. Character backgrounds are fleshed out by Nie Li’s reflections of the character’s pasts and future actions. The use of Nie Li’s reflection is an efficient method in explaining the past and motivations of other characters, rather than in the middle of a fight. Furthermore, Nie Li’s reflections get me interested in how the characters will change from Nie Li’s help.
World Building
Other than the story structure and character …
something I can work on next time is probably the formatting so it doesn’t look like a wall of text

I agree. It’s so overused in anime in a negative way, to be specific, it’s not integrated well with 2d animation. It stands out like a sore thumb.
That’s usually just because its done to be cheap, and the cheapness is obvious.

problem CG usually comes from copy paste assets just to fill a scene, Overlord 3 is one of the best examples of this. It’s possible to do an entire show in CG and make it look good.

This was a good binge read, didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I had thought.
Premise was super stereotypical shoujo. My prediction for the first arc was correct. Though I think the connections between side characters make it more interesting and bingeworthy for me to continue reading.
Manhua like this, is panneled very well for phones and the web.

Woot! May as well add this to my Gurren Lagann and Kill La Kill order
Oof! That price though

Kill La Kill
They really need a complete set for that now. It is silly you can’t get the whole series now.

man, blurays always go for so much. I don’t think I could justify it unless it was a show that I really loved

Yeah these prices are not for the faint of heart, of everything on my shelf i can honestly say i love 99% and im lucky enough to have the disposable income and financial sense of a lemming so it works out for me.

Aniplex
REEEEEEEEEE
Don’t get me started on those asshats, it cost me over $1k to get all of the available Monogatari series and that is straight from aniplex as there is no dub.
