It seems like Ryzen has really reached its maturity on the desktop and still seems ripe for future developments. Possibly the most threatening thing for Intel at this point is the rate at which development seems to be going. If the numbers are to be believed and AMD is able to continue these sorts of generational improvements in the next generation with 5nm zen 4 I find it hard to see how Intel can compete.
