Xnd's blog: home-server/lab • selfhosting • power efficiency • fanless • automation • solar ☀️

Here, I’ll share my adventures with my home server(s)…

As you may have noticed from the title, I plan to write about the following topics:

  • Home server/lab (more about servers and hardware, less about networking)

  • Self-hosting

  • Power efficiency (less heat; I don’t need powerful hardware)

  • Fanless setups (less noise, less dust, fewer decibels)

  • Automation (not just home automation; I plan to cover RS-485)

  • Solar :sunny: (battery systems, charging, management, automation, etc.)

  • Here will be summary of my past “projects”. //TODO: finish it.

Please, give me some time to finish it, I need to search all my relevant posts on many places (like other forums, reddit, my private self-hosted notes, between my thousands files in ~/Downloads : D and so on)

Looking forward to your work on that. I like the low-power and solar addition to the average homelab stuff. I also use efficient components wherever I can, although I personally replace fan-less with more performance, but otherwise I like the addition of solar power and the hardware associated with it.Self-sustaining system, I like. And low-power and silent/fan-less go hand in hand, less power, less heat, less noise.

I’m always interested in how others get a lot within a very narrow power envelope.

Doesn’t matter. Thread and what you’re up to matters
