Ashes of the Singularity Classic starts the launcher which gives option for DX11 and DX12. Tried both separately. Both fail to launch.
Hoping the next one I try will work. …
Seems more miss than hit so far… only three of the games I tested have worked.
(1). DOOM 2016.
(2). Alien Versus Predator Classic Edition.
(3). Crysis 2 Maximum Edition.

The surge works but there are bugs… controller support complete controls fine and no frame issues just no models

Lack of Stream output support. Not going to fixed until DXVK reaches 1.0 Release Candidate stage.

They were really big before because we were pushed the debug DLLs due to a compilation error with Meson and/or Ninja.

I have a feeling that the people at Valve didn’t expect to release Proton this early. But they did anyway because people found some lines of text in a UI text file, and it generated buzz very quickly. It seems like they were not prepared for this and didn’t have the proper packages ready.

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved works great - I will record a video.
Really happy about that one … I know it’s a simple game but I like it ;-).
On the flip side, I use Linux for work … I can see a potential productivity nosedive …

One thing - Keep Aspect Ratio on in video options causes a crash.

Notes:

Games that worked were played 5-10 mins.

The classic Dooms are ran under DOSBOX, you could just get the native one and play them on linux. Or get any open-source engine and copy the WADs. The latter also applies to Quake 1 and 2 (copy the PAKs).

Thoughts:

SAD. Really wanted to play DIRT 3 and Quake Champions…

I think I could make more of them work if I’d tinker, but I wanted to see the out of the box experience.

I am still catching up on the thread. But that seems a little odd, though possible jc3 is using more layers, as sonic mania which runs fine also uses denuvo.

When they said Battlefront 2, I thought they meant the new one. I was hyped for nothing. :frowning:

Old Battlefront 2 is still very fun to play. I still play that from time to time on my PS2. I lost one of my PC install disks, so can’t play on PC.

Did you test multiplayer?

no i assume it does not work due to being in a wine wrapper i will test it now though

Sorry for the double post, but i solved the problem. I didin’t had latest nvidia driver, that was the issue :roll_eyes:
