Why is DVI still a thing?

I’ve had it for about 5 months now.

my 17” sony lcd from 2003 still works fine as a console monitor. much easier to carry if i need it somewhere too.

vhs killed betamax because it had porn

porn drives tech. once porn is available, it takes off. just watch VR go through this process in coming years.

betamax was much more expensive and didn’t have the porn industry onboard.

Can you imagine a USB driven fleshlight for VR. Super scary and I want to see one

There are already internet sex toys.

There are already exploits discussed and submitted to the full disclosure mailing list for internet enabled sex toys…

It wasn’t porn, it war recording capacity. Beta I on L-500 only could record an hour and during the later years of Betamax, you couldn’t even record in Beta I, you had to record in Beta II of which made the record time on a L-500 tape 2 hours and Beta III mode was 3 hours on the same tape. If you were recording in Beta II, you might as well have gotten a VHS tape and recorded at SP because there wasn’t much of a quality upgrade.

Which made more sense? Buying a Betamax VCR with less recording time or if you wanted to record a S-Video instead of composite, get a S-VHS VCR?

I liked DVI, because it could readily convert to other connections with a dumb cable.
Pretty sure I still have DVI to HDMI and VGA(Dslam?)
