What is every ones audio setup?

I have my audio coming from my computer going into a Pioneer receiver going to a couple Klipsch speakers. They are actually indoor/outdoor speakers, but they are $270 speakers that I got for $15. They sound pretty nice, too

I use a pair of DIY speakers built and designed by a friend of mine. Powered by a PA amp. Kinda overkill, but they sound pretty great.

Optical out>preamp>balanced outputs>amp>speakers. Pretty simple setup really.

What the???  That looks normal to me... doesn't everyone have cocaine all over their things??

My setup is

Audirvana plus player

Optical out to Audioengine D1 DAC

Audioengine A5+

It is my first "good" setup

previously i used Bose companion 2 from onboard 3,5 jack, i like the A5's much more.

Used for music and gaming, i dont use and own headphones

nothing special lol, its like nasa on the back of that thing

In living room I have some awesome bang-for-the-buck passive Yamaha 5.0 setup with Yamaha 3D-era amp. In front couple NS-555s, center NS-444 and NS-333s on rear/side. Excellent bargain setup, got the fronts first, then center and rears last from sales. More than enough to watch movies loud in an apartment, no need for a sub yet.

My PC setup in bedroom has nuForce u-dac 3 with Genelec G Ones and Beyerdynamic 990 Pro headphones. Next I'm gonna go for Genelec F One subwoofer since I'm planning to use this active setup 5-10 years to justify the cost. These speakers are absolutely brilliant, can't recommend them enough.

My setup: PC over optical cable -> AV receiver -> 4.1 system. My crappy Razer Carcharias are directly connected to my onboard soundcard (Realtek ALC892) The headset is on my list of things I want to replace.

AV receiver: Onkyo TX-NR509

Frontspeakers: 2x Heco Victa 601

Surroundspeaker: 2x Heco Victa Prime 202

Subwoofer: Heco Victa 251A

The frontspeakers are standing left and right besides my desk, subwoofer under the desk and the surrounds are on a board behind the sofa, that stands 2,5 meters behind the desk.

Its not an expensive system, but it rocks my apartment and music sound just sooo good over it. Even after 3 years :) my first "2.1 system" was a logitech 2.1 for 30 euro :D
Good thing, my neighbours seem kinda resistant to loud music O_ O :)

Sony 7.1 home processor, 2 12 inch subwoofers pushing 150 watts a piece lol. And pioneer floor speakers 32-20k hz

lol wow. cocaine. That's something I'll never touch. My equipment gets dusty quick. The flash probably made it white looking.

Had to post this

Sorry

Currently running some logitech speakers and a headset. Soon to be upgraded to some good studio desktop monitors and a some nice headphones.

Isn't that what the drawers are for?

I have a pair of headphones.

Receiver: Sony STR-DH550

Only have a single custom center channel speaker using two 5" Celestion and two 1" titanium dome tweeters, crossed at 5KHz or something like that.

Plan on making at least two L/R channel speakers using one FaitalPRO 5E120 and one Morel MDT 12 each.

Then at least one 8" or 10" subwoofer. Maybe one of each for gits and shiggles.

Headphones are DT990 running through an O2/ODAC combo.

HiVi drivers?

I have been thinking about getting an emotiva amp and turn my receiver int a pre/pro. How does the Emotive sound?

Sounds great to me :)  I've been using a 7 Channel Emotiva amp (Onkyo receiver) for serveral years and I've been very happy with it. I also use a mono Emotiva amp to drive a sub I built (Tang Band driver). My dad uses a 2 channel Emotiva amp, and my brother-in-law is using a 5 Channel Emotiva amp with an Integra Pre/Pro. I think the bang-for-the-buck can't be beat.

Keep it

It gives the room a nice touch

Im using a Pioneer DC-z84 which is about 30-years-old. It was found in the rubbish. Sounds decent & is in great condition too. I have no idea why anybody would throw it away... maybe the cassette-player wasn't working or something...?

As for the speakers, they are a pair of Akai SR-570 which are again bloody ancient which were also found in the rubbish, i only had to replace the 5" drivers on them because the seals had turned hard & crusty with age. The replacement drivers were also found on another pair of speakers i found in the rubbish.

Been using the setup for around 6-years now. Im not in the least bit surprised this equipment has lasted for so long... they are all great quality brands; plus audio equipment was built to a better degree of quality 20-30 years ago.

A long & fruitful story behind my audio setup...

Although, im thinking about replacing it all with either the Corsair SP-2500 or Logitech Z623. I would like to move towards something a bit more 'compact' so i can have more room on my desk. The current setup is big & chunky.
