How good is Yakuza 0? I have it in mi librrrry, but I haven’t found the will to play yet…
I’ve only just started playing it but I’m having fun so far.
I have however set it to easy because I absolutely suck at brawlers/button prompt mini-games but eh - it’s fun
I mean, how can you not smile a little seeing money fly when you hit someone with a bicycle?
Don’t tell the rest but this is what I do to most of my games…
HD7950 is likely gonn’ be my GOAT of GPUs
I had such a long-AF use, out of mine [2-slot blower build Sapphire]
Part of me, was tempted to using it in my XP-Box, but that felt like severe cheating
Actually I got it so I could hack the BIOS and use it in an old-school Mac Pro. It worked really well for that purpose, and was one of the best cards that supported native OpenFirmware (without paying for somebody to flash it.) RX580’s were supported, but not natively. Things could get tricky for things like firmware and OS upgrades, as well as multi-boot scenarios.
Starfield is an unoptimized pig. On a Ryzen 1700 OC’d to 3.8GHz and a Radeon RX 6700 I get framrates in the mid 40’s, and can barely touch 50 fps occasionally. Under Linux, framerates are slightly better but there are glitches and the game usually locks up within 10 or 15 minutes. May need to experiment with different Proton versions.
On a laptop with an i7-10750H and Nvidia 2700 MaxQ, I’m getting 20 fps at 1080p. That’s pretty sad…
Not shocked, that the optimization is off, to a poorer start
I haven’t touched it yet, mainly with not having enough disk space
Probably would be in similar boat to your rig [RX-6700], unless Arc gets to play nice
I think Intel recently released some working ARC drivers for Starfield.
That was under Linux, under Winblows it’s actually playable on the laptop. about 45 - 50 fps outdoors, 80+ fps in interiors without much lighting and clutter. I also had to re-enable hyperthreading (I usually disable it on laptops to help keep temps under control) for a playable experience.
So good…
20 hours in it keeps introducing game mechanics that both give you an advantage and it keeps unlocking more difficult settings so as to make you use them. It also unlocks new abilities so its keeping it fresh and I don’t even know how many more characters there are…
So good…
I’m… free ?

Why I don’t feel free ? The factory must grow!
Somewhat accidentally got The Outer Worlds working on my M1 MacBook Air, so I’m revisiting the game. Never got a chance to play the DLC, so here is my opportunity.
The game’s humor is droll, and rather critical of corporate hegemony. Not that it isn’t well placed, but seems a bit hypocritical like some other games I can think of (coughCyberpunkcough) coming from a AAA studio. Well I guess Obsidian would’ve been considered AA before Microsoft snarfed them up.
Is that the Spacers Choice Edition ?
Er…not unless I snagged a free upgrade, similar to the upgrade to Skyrim SE that Bethesda gave to owners of the original game.
Took a look at the minimum specs, and I doubt an M1 could push the same pixels as a 1060.
Is CDPR already a AAA-publisher? I still think of them as AA-publisher that can do AAA-quality (same with Larian).
After getting the cash from Witcher 3, acquiring GOG and recruiting staff for Cyberpunk I considered them large enough to be a AAA studio. Of course not everyone will agree.
You know what, they do have the hubris of AAA-publisher just before and after the release of CP207, so maybe they fully are?
I am messing around with Open Arena and ioquake3. I am currently testing dedicated servers on my little server box. not online at all. just testing new maps and configurations. I don’t know if this is the right thread for this. but this is what I am playing with
Happy gaming everyone.
Working my way in “Aliens: Dark Descent” while also getting motivated to do “Assassins Creed Mirage”… also took a chance on “Outriders”… um a few more Im sure…
Question: Would people like to have a reviewer of games here on L1 forums? A unbiased, older perspective review. I get in depth on my posts so I’d probably do the same with games… unless this has been done and I missed it.
- Yes, I’d love a normal players review
- Yes, buy not the right forum
- Maybe
- No, not needed

Or tell me what ya think of the idea. I know its mostly a forum for higher tier involved tech and projects, but could be a fun side read for people. Maybe include some fun mods for games that suport them… I dunno spit balling because I get bored. Not sure how @wendell would feel about adding something like this.
I voted MAYBE, if you feel like it’s a worthy of your time then go for it ![]()
Dude, do it… Post a game, see what traction it gets.
Real decision, is Mega Thread with multiple games, or smaller threads, some dying out, others getting occasion bots pop in selling CSGO skins…
But start with one game, would be my shout
