What game are you currently playing thread?

Try not to unlock the weapons that suck so that the weapons in active rotation remain powerful.

Oh whoops I bought the broadsword. I like the nail that stuns enemies at the tip

Sometimes its ok to put in fun weapons for the lolz.

Like that cursed blade where you die if anything hits you or cause damage.

I sometimes pick that to see how far I can go without dying (just after the first boss).

Got kinda burned out on BG3 by Act 3, so I turned to something…crunchier. Production values are definitely lower (indie game, so there ya go), but it has much far reaching choices & consequences, and great tactical combat.

BULLETSTORM VR

I really wanted it to be good. I have played thru the 2011 original game at least 10 times. I didn’t pre-order and reviews on Jan 18 release were BAD. Another case of a half-baked port. Works fine on PC, but Sony is already handing out refunds. Occulus users have every reason to complain about the poor quality graphics on that platform.
[sounds like Cyberpunk all over again]
I bought it anyways… figured I had to try it and maybe return it.

TL:DR - It’s fun on PC despite some minor glitches.

I am running an i9 + RTX3060ti + HP Reverb VR @2160x2160x2 eyes.
First weird thing - There are no graphics options. Take it or leave it. The graphics are a bit muddy. I like the mechanic of grabbing things, loading magazines into my weapon, kicking and/or using the leash to whip somebody around with my left hand in VR… while shooting minions with my right hand.

BULLETSTORM is a great game. It’s really fun in VR on PC. The devs sound like they want to fix the bugs. I haven’t had any game breaking bugs… just a few times when the controls were awkward. But that was more my problem of getting used to the VR controls in a new game. Leash in my left hand, ammo on my left thigh, gun on my right and shotgun over my right shoulder. Sometimes when Grabbing the controller in the heat of action I accidentally click the ‘grab’ button and drop my weapon. Sometimes It’s hard to grab ammo mags fast and stick it in. But when I can reload in 1 smooth motion, it’s pretty cool.

I had a terrible PC back then and the game lagged so much, that I didn’t really persist in playing it for too long.
But the mechanics are so good! I loved the idea behind it and the execution was brilliant. One of the underrated games, for sure. I wish there were more games like this.

I was huge into The Cycle the whole time it was alive. It’s been dead long enough that I have “that itch” to try to play Tarkov, but it’s a lot of money for a game that probably won’t run on my computer at all.

I play The Last Of Us

Bulletstorm VR: update.

I enjoyed playing for 3 hours. Went to play yesterday to discover the devs - People Can Fly - rushed out a botched update. The bad update borked everybody’s VR wand controller. The game is non-functional on all platforms. Today the dev laid off a lot of staff. This smells like People Can Fly had a contract to release BSVR, met the terms of the contract and planned to fold the company as soon as they got paid.

The game is fun and I have played too long to return it. Another fun game ruined by crunching to meet a deadline. I am willing to wait for a proper update because I like the game. I have no other choice.

If it’s on steam, try getting a refund anyway. Explain the situation. I’ve refunded games well over their refund playtime limit and returned them successfully.

Tried playing deadcells while offline, my save wasn’t synced since I played it online

I looked it up and this solution fixed it

Im glad you seem to be having a good time. I havent truly finished the game yet.

The DLCs are quite difficult. I hate going through the DLC areas because its quite punishing even though the fun is there.

I bought the Castlevania DLC last year but I havent got around playing it.

I usually burn out before I get to the end game. I’ve gotten as far as to desert dungeons.
