What game are you currently playing thread?

I can definitely see CP2077 being a particularly strong VR candidate with the sheer city immersion level.

So I’ve had Teardown since the early Early Access point. It’s honestly the most innovative game I’ve played in like a decade. If you don’t know, it’s a full voxel physics simulating, fully destructible puzzle game. It has the destruction sandbox playground aspect, but the actual game is somehow like taking Portal and shoving it through a real world problem solving filter.

It’s the only game that has had me think about how to shuffle a safe that’s too heavy to lift like I was right back to being a semi-professional mover, for what that’s worth.

I played through the initially released campaign which was the first chapter, but they did some revisions when they made the full release. My ~son~ meanwhile has racked up five hundred hours and accumulated enough mods to inflate the game files by an order of magnitude. I have picked it up here and there for one or two runs, but never started over since the full release.

Well, once the console release started looming, I started over. Just been a reminder how much I like this stupid game, especially since I’m actually just now breaking into the new content I hadn’t played through yet.

I think I’m going to make it a point to try and sit down to play a video game tonight. It’ is usual for me to go through hot and cold spells, but I haven’t actually “played” a game since last summer. (I get mental blocks very easy because of my ADHD and the longer they go on, the tougher to break through.)

Anyways, I’m going to give the new CP2077 build and expansion a go with a new character, I still haven’t tried the Corpo origin :slightly_smiling_face:

I played Alan wake 2, the story is really well done, the game is just really good, there is action, the atmosphere is a bit horror thriller

OpenRCT2…
Cause Roller Coaster Tycoon

Exard I went back on my prediction and it seems I was sort of right.

It was the Emperor who tadpoled us in the start. His brain was unjumbled into independence when he got near the astral prism.

I finished a few weeks ago and I replayed the end because of patch 5

But you are also right in that The Emperor is a dick and I decided to side with Orpheus in the end.

I never trusted him in the first place. I smelled corruption

I went with Orpheus and accepted transformation and killed myself. Was quite the emotional end all things considered. It was the proper play considering my choices and how I played the character. Sad but dramatic and fitting.

Made 2 other plathroughs until act 2. Now game is scheduled for “in a couple of months”. Don’t want to spoil every detail and path just yet.

Well made game from start to finish. Got the soundtrack with me on my phone. I love weeping dawn (Alfiras Song), Song of Balduran (Elfsong tavern + epic plot twist) and Raphaels Last Act (masterpiece of a Bossfight)

I like the hag fight song - Twisted Force (or twisted power?), Song of Balduran as well as the Raphael’s Final Act. You should try to cast a silence spell on him during the fight and see what happens.

I sort of believed him at first then he became shadier and shadier. His origin story makes it even sadder.

The quality, I’d say is uneven the early access Chapter one is shiny and well polished and the succeeding chapters is less refined than the last. The original ending felt hollow and its great that Patch 5 came out to rectify it.

Still, a great game overall, I’d still argue its still the Game of the (last) Decade.

The narrative is excellent. Building up a character to only face yourself with someone in the same circumstances as yourself who shows you a distorted mirror image. He’s well done. The Act 3 quest to get his human belongings…it made him so human and likeable. Larian built the story so very well. A tragedy and a hero, and connected to you in many ways. Masterwork.

Shadowheart had Light Docrine in my playthrough (reskilled after her Act2 plot it made sense). So Channel divinity and offensive stuff was more her thing. Gale did an amazing job as crowd controller with Haste and Slow, Wizards are the best.

But interesting that Silence is useful for very interesting gameplay mechanics. Like silencing the Goblin camp wall before smashing it with a hammer prevents Gobbos from getting alarmed. That’s the plazer creativity of D&D made manifest. These things make BG3 a D&D game. But Silence needs concentration, so I never slotted or used it much. Too much competition for concentration from other great spells.

I played right at launch with buggy and laggy Act3. I probably got all bugs that were present there. But Paladins don’t yield if the fate of the world is at stake

I don’t judge Larian too much for it. It’s huge complex software. And I will play it in 10 years as I’ve done with all Infinity games. BG3 will join their ranks and it will run without most of the launch bugs.

They could have released all acts in early access and then many bugs would have been found. But that’s the price we payed. It’s fine.

Next playthrough…Swords Bard or Gloomstalker Sword+Board Ranger. Maybe lawful evil playthrough instead of lawful good. I may get friends with Raphael

I got one of these for VR gaming. Much easier to navigate when “blind.”

Also, if into VR, I heavily recommend AutoHotKey and VoiceAttack. Spent 4,000+ VR hours in Elite Dangerous and these programs were key to my long term enjoyment.

Not this exact model, but close. Lets you re-orient your hand a lot faster than normal 104 key version.

World of tanks blitz
The maximum battle time is 7 minutes, it takes up to 3 minutes to start a battle in the middle of the night, and usually under 30 seconds mid day.

I will often play this during the day, but I also often need to leave mid game, so I have a poor win rate.

All of the one shot one kill tanks take a hundred hours to grind to, and can get thrashed by a light tank.

battles are 7x7

World of tanks non blitz battles last up to 20 minutes and i think are 20x20 on larger maps.

There are a very limited maps selection, but enough places to hide that that doesn’t matter, and finding that upon your death that that little bush over yonder is indeed large enough to hide a 100 ton heavy tank.

It is free to play, but you want to pay for premium. it is cheaper by the year, I give them $30 every few months.

gold / $ tanks earn credits much faster and are often unique in fun ways, but are rarely stronger overall than a tank that you need to grind. I would recommend getting a premium tank early to grind credits faster so you can upgrade your tank earlier.

The company was based in Belarus, the Ukraine and Russia, but after the war started moved the company and all of their people to Europe in countries that did not border the conflict zone. Before the ware they were pro russia, but after the war started they have completely reversed course, though they didn’t nerf the in game russian assets.

Overall I am spending less than I was on world of warcraft. The opportunity is there to spend more, but it is definitely not pay to win, and if you think you can, you will probably get thrashed by an 8 year old who never paid a dime.

I mostly play on an m2 MacBook air. The game is running under the wine x86 to arm emulation layer, and it uses one of my 10 gpu cores. it runs at max frame rate on ultra settings. While gaming on battery I can get more than 3 hours of game time. I haven’t done that recently but I think I used to get 7 hours. The intel skylake 6700hq (skull canyon nuc with 128mb l3 cache and iris graphics) was unable to maintain 20fps at minimum quality in blitz.

The non-blitz game is hard for my MacBook to run, and does great on a PC with an nvidia gpu. It will run at medium settings on a 750ti, and ultra on a 4070 (and probably weaker, but those are the two I have).

Wargaming got me for a while with the original WoT back in the day. I’m also currently on a World of Warships kick, which happens for a while every few months, it has a cycle to it.

World of Warships is my goto when I have a few min to kill. I only last a few games before invisible enemies hidden behind islands or smoke screens can decimate me.

Destroyers (with torpedoes) are killer in world of warships. I was pretty successful on that, but if your team sucks, it is much harder to single handedly kill everyone on the other team, which I have done a few times in world of tanks.

The main reason that I don’t play world of warships is lack of time, on wot blitz, the games are 6 minutes instead of 20 minutes. Also as a noob I kept running aground.

It is fun to play a battle ship and kill people over an island.

I think I got to around tier 6 playing a destroyer and was averaging around 3 kills per game.

If you do play world of tanks, make sure to set your firing control to server side. That effectively gives you super human reflexes as it backdates the trigger pull to remove the speed of light delay.

This is whats said online and I’d repeat but I havent really tried: If you cast Silence on Raphael on his boss fight, he stops singing in the background music and that is attention to detail that is Rockstar level.

I started this quick pick me up game:

Space Cadet but mixed with a Tyrian 2000 feels. It seems ok for early access. As with most pinball games, its cryptic and I really dont know where I am doing or where I am supposed to hit next. It has a an option to rotate the screen to 90 deg (or is it 270?) and I did and had a good time playing. Lots of eye candy in here if you want your good ol pinball fix.
