VR build for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

I’m looking to put together a VR build for mostly Flight Sim, but I have zero hands-on experience with VR and flight sims so I’d love some input if there are some obvious problems in my parts list.

PC part list:

Intel Core i5 12600k
Noctua NHD-15
Z690 DDR4 board
2x16GB 3200MHz kit
1TB NVMe SSD
RTX 3080
PSU 850W Gold

Peripherals:

Honeycomb Aeronautical Alpha Flight Controls
Honeycomb Aeronautical Bravo Throttle Quadrant
Logitech Flight Rudder Pedals
27" 1440p monitor, not sure yet about the model but high refresh rate

For headset I’m thinking Valve Index VR kit, but that may be hard to get so alternative is HTC Vive 2 Pro.

Some additional questions…

  • Is 3080 enough to run a VR headset at good enough framerates consistently, most benchmarks @4k hover around 40-50 FPS and that feels a bit low for VR?
  • I’m not clear about needing tracking boxes and controllers, can it run with only Honeycomb peripherals during gameplay? Possibly keyboard and mouse in between.
  • Do you have any experience with Honeycomb peripherals, all (four) reviews do look positive but you never know? Maybe just stick with Logitech gear and not complicate things?
  • Honeycomb doesn’t make pedals, will mixing with Logitech gear have any issues?
