Free software suffers the same issue but in the driver works, "intellectual property" get touted as the reason for not releasing API/interface data. The fact is that stuff is public facing and will be reverse engineered, those companies are just making it artificially harder to do so.
Apple go a little further in that they dont want repairs to happen as it affects their bottom line on the part replacement service. (because lets face it, they dont repair shit)
Its the same problem with everything these days. And its a total waste, its a waste of money, its a waste of resources and its a waste on our planet, not to mention it monopolises the "repair" business.
you all realize he has shit talked enough of his local competitors that one of them may have decided to sue him not apple who probably loses so little from Louis's shop and youtube that any suit would cost more in time money and bad press than they would ever make.
I find it unlikely that it would be about shit talking any company though, that wouldn't affect his business. Using schematics that he may not be allowed to have, that would affect his business. Which is likely why people are thinking its Apple and Co.
Actually he's made a couple vids talking about that companies should be punished for doing wrong like if they sell components for double of their worth when they don't even work or other shady practices, but that you should never downplay the company next door because you both do tech.
This he has even named owners and companies around him who he shit talked. I dont care that he did nor do i think he was in the wrong to do so but if i was a betting person that is who is going after him not Apple because again it is a loser of a strategy to go after an individual for repairing computers and cellphones just so you can make an extra penny when it's all said and done.
It makes a lot more sense that the owner of one of those companies he shit talked decided to go to court about it as it actually affected his bottom line.
Also notice he did not mention his repair videos he only mentioned his how to do business videos so that is my guess and yes it is just a guess.
You would think that a company like Apple couldn't possibly earn anything significant on doing something like this, it would just be bad publicity. This is purely evil.
I'm going to say something worse about Apple than saying they're evil, I'm going to use primitive psychiatry going to the most primal form of dis-trust that Donald Trump uses and say something that makes our opposition look incompetent instead of evil because in sensationalist statements, it's more effective to say somebody's weak instead of an asshole.
So, Apple's a Coward, they're run by Cowards and them trying to shut down independent repair is Apple showing cowardice because they're scared of competition in repairing their stuff.
If he did something as stupid as badmouth and name his competitors, that's potentially slander. It also shows he's not beneath unscrupulous practices himself, because by doing so, he lowered himself to their level. He could've just said, "a competitor does _____." I think that enough would've been sufficient to be within legal means.
Is anybody else not getting sound from these? I tried playing here, no sound, opened in YouTube, sound works for ad, but video has no sound, tried a different video from a different YouTuber, sound works. Wtf.
Edit: None of this guy's videos that I've tested today have any sound, but all other videos work fine. I just watched his video "Why I don't use Apple products" and a couple others yesterday and it was working fine, and now all of a sudden there's no sound.
