I recently acquired two Sunfire X4170, 144GB each to run my services on. However the firmware is old and I would like to upgrade it. Unfortunately Oracle bought Sun and now they want you to pay for everything including firmware upgrades.
I am look for the latest version;
ILOM 3.0.16.38.a r112721
BIOS 07.06.03.15
If someone with an Oracle support account could help me I'll greatly appreciate it!

I have an Oracle support account through work but unfortunately I only have access to the software downloads. However, in case someone else stumbles here and has an account with firmware download, there's a couple bits of information that I needed in order to do any searching.
Can you confirm if they are the M2, X3-2 (M3) model or just standard X4170? I also see a 4th model mentioned when searching X4170 which is basically the M3 but it says X86 (nashua).
Can you also confirm the Release? This is a required item when searching, this may be what leads to the newest version you're looking for. For example the latest for bog standard X4170 is SW 2.6.9. This returns to me patch 24292949 labeled X4170 SW 2.6.9 - ILOM AND BIOS (Patch) which per the readme looks very close to what you need but it's a different r version than what you mentioned.

I was able to find an earlier version;

I’ve recently got a x4170 and am looking for firmware as well. Does anyone have it?
TBH, I could live with the fw as is but I’m tearing my hair out with a problem that I’m hoping new firmware will fix.
Basically, I can only power the server via ilom. The power button won’t power it up, nor will pulling the power. No errors in the ilom logs nor failing hardware indicated. Go figure

i got some x4170 for my testing-lab. has anyone actual firmware for me - oracle refuses to download. i’m search for ILOM 3.2.11.20.b r126286 with BIOS 07.06.03.20 for X4170 Server Hardware.
Maybe someone here has access to the Support Section at Oracle (@lessaj ? )
The Firmware runs only on that particular Hardware - i don’t get why they locked it behind doors. Other vendoors also make this freely available. It is also a security issue if you can not fix seccuity issues with new patches.

I also would really love a copy of the firmware for the X4270.
I am not worried if it’s the latest (or though that would be fantastic)
my system has 3.0.6.10 ILOM (server download 2.1, patch 10295345) which is from 2009.
while my server boots, the ILOM does not work via the browser. pretty sure the html data has been corrupted.
but if someone can help with a newer patch, that would be fantastic.
latest patch is 28398445 if someone can help.

I too have a Sun Server X3-2 (formerly Sun Fire X4170 M3 Server)
running
System Firmware Version: 3.2.4.26.b
ILOM Firmware: 3.2.4.26.b
System BIOS: 17110500
I contacted Oracle to see about paying for the latest firmware, and they wouldn’t even entertain that idea.
anyone have access to newer firmware? I do know that I wont be buying a Oracle piece of hardware anytime soon. though I am seeing a trend starting with this model of pay for firmware updates. HPE does this on some of their ML and DL lines too.

The latest seems to be here mentioned in oracle website server firmware release history

But mine is 2012, I would appreciate any version after, E5 V2 processors work only it seems with updated bios
