So I bought an AMD MI25 for a little under $100 and flashed the BIOS to a Radeon Pro WX 9100 like what was done in this thread.
This was PURELY for a fun thing to do on a weekend, but having switched to Linux recently and my A770 performance so far being spotty at best… I’m kinda eying this for my main PC to see how an AMD card performs in the games I’m currently playing.
This leads to the title. Does anyone have any budget suggestions for cooling this thing? At the moment it has some 40mm fans with a little baffle I made out of kapton tape (which actually works ok and it doesn’t throttle) but it’s rather noisy…
I have an old HD 7970 that just so happens to have an Arctic Accelero IV on it, but I don’t really know how well that would mount to a Vega GPU and I have no means of 3D printing a bracket or machining one. There is also the problem of cooling the VRMs and such.
If anyone has any ideas for my extremely niche and stupid problem I’d really appreciate it!
