Wow this is dumb. They are trying hard with X299, I wish they could have putted that much effort in Haswell-E/Broadwell-E.

Also, did I just read that the CPU is fucking $220 USD!?

“OH, BUT GUIEZ, IT’S SINGLE CORE IS SO AMAZING I JUST HAVE TO SPEND AS MUCH ON A THIRD OF THE ACTUAL CPU PERFORMANCE! HERE INTEL, MILK MY MONEY”

X299 is shit. At least when I bought the i7 5820K, the CPU was only $320, good value considering that AMD had no options at the time against it. X99 was expensive af though. Now we have a 2C/4T that may be priced the same as an R5 1600, an i7 5820K equivalent for $220? Just get the Pentium G4650 if your that obsessed with single threading.

They just want the highest core clocks and overclocking numbers.
Thats the only reason i could think of.
But yeah they allready have that so its kinda weird.

If x299 accepted ECC i would already be on it instead of waiting for an x370 or x399 mATX board worth a damn, dont have much hope on x399 but time will tell

They never even cared about the Core i3’s being overclockable until Kaby Lake.
