Recomendations for a non-frequant reader

Hi L1T forum dwellers!

As some of ya know I bought an ebook reader recently. So now it’s time for a 2nd part of the equation. What to read?

I am gonna go on a vacation for about two weeks, and that sounds like a good opportunity to pick reading back up, and hopefully stick to it longer this time.

I thought maybe you guys can recommend me something to read?

What I already plan to read:

  • Brave New World
  • 12 Rules for Life
  • A Brief History Of Time

What I would like to get into:

  • Sci-fi (Dune?)
  • Lovecraftian stuff

For Sci-fi, how about Arthur C Clark? Most of his stuff is good. If you have more specific interests under the Sci-fi heading I may have more suggestions.

Pretty much any book that was turned into a movie(although not necessarily vise versa) is worth reading if you are interested in the genre. The Martian, Ready Player One, and Ender’s Game are three recent examples that come to mind.

Some of the Sci-fi I’ve read and found interesting:

The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein - Read it because Qain was recommending it in some video.

The Martian by Andy Weir is fun read.

The Last Question by Asimov is great short story.
I haven’t read any other stuff by him but he is considered to be one of the classic authors in the genre.

Also you can check what people have read and find something interesting if you have’t done it already.
