if your goal was to actually set benchmark records then no, you would want 2x single rank to really go as far as you can unless you have something thats quad channel.

Not necessarily, like i said above, i think 3200mhz should be enough for me, with CL15 or CL16.
for 3200 you could easily get CL14 at that pricepoint

i have trident z in my x299 rig, they clear a darck rock pro 4 atleast, what cooler is that you have?
The fans, positioned like that they hit the side panel on the case.
And i love this cooler man, its soooo quiet, much quieter than my Asetek AIO.
