i honestly have no idea, now they are back peddleing cause they lied to BBB and me and i have the emails to prove it etc. i might delete this post and repost all the new info as 1 post. i have 2 recordings now too lol.
Customer service manager who wont be named- after all this went down, (me taking to forums etc) sent me an email saying i was no long suspended…
so i called to register my keyboard and the tech told me i was still suspended and there was nothing he could do- i have the recording lol.
gonna start filming and posting on youtube now so people cant say “of we dont know when that conversation was etc” i’l start at it again tomorow.
also have a new customer serivice manager cause the other one i proved was a liar etc. he even said i opened the keyboard- 1 no i did not lol. 2 he has not seen it to even make that call and finally told me i was not black listed anymore but i am lol and he lied to the BBB told them i had no factory warranty anymore. actually i still have 17 months
How can you tell? (And why is recycled plastic bad?)
Also, the BBB is not a regulatory body. It’s not related to any government. You can pay them to make “problems” go away, just like Yelp. Any time complaining to them is effective, it would’ve been just as effective to complain on Yelp or Google Maps, because they all have equal power: that is, any power they seem to have is purely because businesses feel like dealing with them.
Kinda strange behaviour from a company like that.
However things going wrong in regards to customer support,
isn’t particularly uncommon.
Sometimes it also highly depends on which particular people you,
get in contact with from the support desk.
It’s kinda similar to reviewers who are getting blacklisted,
because they made a “honest” review with some negative critism about a certain product.
It’s kinda unfortunate but it does happen.
just glad i did not buy any corsair stuff lol
omron switch shouldn’t break the clam shell in 6 hours tho lol my last mouse went 10 years. using xtrify now its decent
That doesn’t mean it’s recycled plastic (or even if it was, that recycled plastic is unsuitable for use), just that it broke. Could easily be a manufacturing defect.
possibly. but overall the build quality was bad on both products. the parting line on the k68 rgb keyboard will cut paper…and your hands… my new keyboard is 100x better and was 60$ canadian
little update lol. corsair has now resorted to name calling in our interactions with the BBB, also asked them to stop emailing me and they dint, now i go small claims court.
99% of you missed the point of this post. its the blacklist without telling people. thats so scummy lol. refusal of service is fine and thats not what i think is unfair, its that i could of built a corsair themed build and 0 warranty final sale on bran new products. with 2 year warranty etc. corsair also told the bbb i am over return date for 2 year warranty. lets do the math. i bought the mouse and keyboard in july last year… obviously keeping all these emails and interactions with the bbb, BBB is not law enforcement agency but i can use the information gathered in court to win my case. come at me corsair. Canadian vet here. what u gonna do.
I cant believe they called me a racist etc in the bbb “meeting”/interaction" it still blows my mind. the dude dont even know what ethnicity i am…
@moderators
hello i was wondering if it would be possible to move this post to the news section of the forums? instead of hardware. if not i will re-post there and delete this PSA: for all corsair customers, they have an rma "blacklist" and you will not get support or rma
if it cant be done just let me know cheers guys
I don’t know about where you live, but here in Australia recording a phone conversation with anyone without first obtaining consent is highly illegal. Making a recording as part of a legal defence is the only way I think that this is legal but only if used in a court to actually defend yourself. Posting it on the internet would not be considered part of your legal defence.
This is why when you call them the automated system states the call may be recorded for monitoring or training purposes, this is your opportunity to opt out and hang up if you do not consent.
Anyway, like I said, laws might be different where you are, but just be careful my friend
Sorry I just saw this and did a quick google on it:
https://www.prowsechowne.com/blog/implications-recording-private-conversations-canada
- Though private conversations are often presented in court as a matter of evidence. The Criminal Code defines a private conversation as one that happens between two people, which shouldn’t be recorded without consent. Even if the conversation happens between multiple people, legal action can be taken if it does not involve everyone’s consent.
I would be very wary of posting these recordings online as you didn’t inform the other party you were also recording. Make the recordings to protect yourself yes… post them online… questionable.
1 person needs to know but i’m not a lawyer either
yeah 100% legal i’m a vet i know my rights…
so many people defending consumerism/capitalism but dont say anything in defense of consumers rights etc. i buy a 80 000$ truck bran new, take it in next month cause the rear end is grinding etc w/e u want as an example. for some reason you are blacklisted. they deny you service, refuse explanation as to why, refuse to escalate to supervisor etc, “the basics” i would call it… obviously an exaggerated example but people still dont get it. they took my money and refused me service without my knowledge and would have continued to take my money if i did not write them off as another trash company, they come and go. meanwhile you got crutial/micron with insanely good customer service(i had a hard drive go missing in shipping they sent replacement the minute i called them) they also have the most detailed product sheets out of any manufacturer, i’m including intel/amd. u wanna know ur trace layout on your motherboard, or pcie lane layout, you got to buildzoid not intel amd asus msi etc. i said t topology to an asus rep and i think the poor guy had a stroke.
another example of an exemplerary company is evga, they have accepted rma on gpu’s i have taken the grinder to for more airflow lol. insane 3 year warranty. i believe they were the first company to start ignoring the “warranty void if removed” lol clean ur pre built pc and its got no warranty.(wish evga would make custom v bios again…)
asus also at least in Canada is awesome to deal with. my mom rma’d her am3 rebuilt way back and they paid for everything. cost her nothing. i ran a z77 board for years no issues, some gpu’s no issues.
how old is corsair? lol they are a razer wannabe, in which razer is now an apple wannabe. their engineer’s are shit. all their laptops etc are proof of this.
back when i built a rig in 2012 corsair was basically only known for vengeance low profile ram for nh d14 clearance lol. and having decent fans for cheap. they dont make a fan under 20$ canadian anymore. notua is cheaper then corsair, i dont need 100$ 120mm rgb fans. how did the pc community let this leech get so big. if you look at your computers leds instead of the screen ur doing it wrong…
They sell kids toys that light up at wallmart
cheers-
i honestly see peripheral company’s as the last think you would buy building a pc. and if your not buying havit aluminium keyboards or xtrify mouse your getting ripped off.
also rma’d some junk 120$ razer mouse last year. it was painless tho
not sure about current year but the original cooler master storm xornet was and still is the most comfortable claw grip i have used with incredible durability.
want to know how i knew it was not recycled plastic? cause after 5 years i rebuilt the pegs on left/right click with a drader gun at work. worked for another 5 years…15$cad mouse not 100
i know it was recycled plastic cause the drader gun at work melted the clam shell lol. it was pathetic. i just worked as a roto moulding operator for saeplast for 11 years. i know plastic lol. also why wouldn’t they replace the mouse clam shell? it comes off in one piece tootles design lol. the answer is cause the replacement would also fail.
Sorry I am not reading all of this as most of it is written in a way that comes across as just ranting (no offence).
When it comes to PC equipment most of it is total Junk, branded Razor and Logitech mice, especially the “Gaming Mice” are total junk and are not built to last. “Gamers” don’t care, they want a mouse that looks “sick” and gives them “an edge”.
I am an extremely heavy PC user and after getting sick of spending large sums on “pro” hardware in the hopes that it will last longer I decided to start looking for alternatives that are actually built for industry professionals that can’t afford any downtime because of a collapsed mouse button, etc.
I have a box of Razor mice that all failed after ~13 months with collapsed switches, or some other fault that really is inexcusable. Keyboards, the same, usually I would have them failing after about 12 months.
In the end I came to the realisation that the “enterprise” mice that cost oodles more are worth it if they don’t fail so frequently. I ended up investing in a DAS Keyboard and a 3DConnexion mouse, and I have never looked back! 5 years and counting and they have not missed a beat.
Just some feedback though on this thread as it is… like I said at the start, it reads like a single person just ranting about something. Yes you may have good information or merit, but replying to yourself over and over again with poor grammar or proper usage of simple punctuation will make most people just ignore this thread entirely.
+1 best productivity mouse
i took the time to read your post cause thats why i am here. as for grammer etc i amd eng/fr bilingual canadian and i think french and speak english so i’m sorry i dont have a great education. what a minor thing to complain about.
" am an extremely heavy PC user and after getting sick of spending large sums on “pro” hardware in the hopes that it will last longer I decided to start looking for alternatives that are actually built for industry professionals that can’t afford any downtime because of a collapsed mouse button, etc."
That is where i am at only unlike most people i am tired of being ripped off.
My last 3 mice were asus rebuilt mice i got for 5$ cad at local pawn shop. i gave up on high end. my razer death adder died in a day but at least they accepted to refund me. Anyone remember the razer lycosa? razer will never make a keyboard that good again.
if u want to be stupid and pay hardware prices for a mouse evga are prob the only ones worth it. at least they will rma it…
all mice need is a steel shim or just a melted piece of hdpe melted onto it. on the clam shell clickers and they will never die, and omron switches, which corsair uses to sell their trash- are made of a different plastic that is extremely hard, its called HDPE its also known as “real plastic” in the plastic industry.
I have had good luck with this Havit keyboard. 60$ cherry blue switches and aluminum housing “splash proof” lol not gonna test it tho. heavy braided cable
my mouse is xtrify m4 and its build quality is actually better then the cm storm xornet which is the best mouse i have ever used it was 15$ bran new. (just lacks the dpi on the fly the xornet did) dpi on the fly with the xtrify is on the bottom of the mouse and basically useless during game play. it was 40$cad and made in Sweden mouse also has the best cable i have seen on a mouse in years. very heavy gauge and braid is nice but unnecessary, i use them for quick save etc.+ came with extra key caps that are white and led friendly.
that box of mice you said you have i could fix the clamshells in like 5 mins both buttons. if the switch is bad(highly unlikely) like i said in my post you did not read i worked with plastic for 11 years. they are sourcing cheap plastic. then using “bare minimum settings” to make a product lol
instead of e wasting everything fix it.
my cm storm xornet buttons were rebuilt atleast twice. once i did it with a lighter and dripped it on the clicker peg. another time i used drader gun at work (its a hot glue gun for plastic…)
tried the drader on the corsair mouse. the molten plastic melted thru the shell confirming its not hdpe. its the same princible as steel. aluminum cannot scratch titanium lol
-ty for your opinion
