Going with white actually, the Blue EL panels were just too blue... if that makes any sense.
Doing a video update today. I thought it was pretty cool to watch, I didn't get the entire process because my memory card filled up. Let me know what you think!
Wow! Just went through this whole thread EPIC DUDE! Also that Iron Man on the front is epic! I might have missed it but what color coolant are you going to use?
Originally I was going to be using Gold Coolant, however after playing with the color it actually looked pretty bad. I went with red and so far it's looking pretty good.
Memory and SSD are here
Memory installed with a peek at the cables.
Put the M.2 in. The green really sticks out.
Creative vinyl application to hide the green
5820k Installed... I was surprised that it installed upside down, but it's not a big deal.
Water block installed, added cable combs, and bent up the tube from the CPU to the radiator.
Same image without flash.
GTX 980Ti added in.. MMMM pretty... I'm loving the back plate.
Filling attempt (this one ended in disaster, I ended up filling the loop with a different tube and funnel combo later...
Tubes all in place, and yes, I used a ton of paper towel... Let's not go into it... I had good reasons.
The loop is leak testing and i'm working the air bubbles out.
The Original plan to go with gold fluid just looked aweful with the metallic gold paint and the anodized gold fittings. Adding a third gold color into the mix just looked bad... So red fluid it is.
oh, and Here's a shot of the mask :D
My first of 2 EL panels came in, So here's the album for fitting the top lighting.
Plexi Fixed in place
EL Panel wired and installed
Lit up. Hulkbuster Approves.
Got the mask almost complete.
Paint!!
and peel.
Still waiting on the EL panel for the front mask... The computer is sitting on my desk, windows is installed... Overclocking is complete... but where's the fun of showing off the final pictures before everything's complete!!
Very nice! Looking forward to the final shots. ^^
EL panel on the top looks great. Love the lighting. Looking forward to seeing the final photos.
Have manufacturers started making M.2s with black PCBs yet? As you noted, the green totally kills aesthetics for anyone who wants to incorporate one in their build. I hadn't really thought about that since I dont use an M.2 in my rig.
So, what's the first thing you are going to do with it once its complete?
I've actually got it up and running already... So I guess the first thing I did was edit the last batch of photos before I posted them. I've been fleshing out my website at the same time getting it ready to go live. Hopefully I'll edit some videos on it soon. Oh, and games... Which is obvious. :D
Final Update time! This build is Finished.
Higher quality images will be available on my personal website/build blog page diluzio.us
Just for giggles, My wife took pictures of my ghetto photo studio set up in the living room.
The backdrop area
Using the projector as a studio light
I hung the back drop from a curtain rod and a door using some clothes line... yep.... but the results were good at least.
Awsome job!
Amazing build. I love build logs like this. It always amazes me to see how people solve the problems that come up during a build, and the idea's that come up with for the build.
Thanks!
Haha... There's been more than one occasion that i've had to sleep on a problem only to figure it out the next morning and wonder why it took so long.
Oh man I love problems like that. It's always so obvious.....yet you can't see it because you're tired, or too "into" the project to see the solution.
I've gotten better about recognizing when I've hit a wall and need to walk away from a project for a while.
Both the case and the components look great. Nice work! Love the custom sleeved cables. Any plans to bring it to a Tek Syndicate community attending event in the near future?
I'd love to, anything happening near Madison area? (or within a few hour drive thereof?)
haha... it kills you... if you look at my batgirl build I did that the other night, it took me like 5 hours to pull the old system apart to get the mobo, gpu and PSU out, after a good nights sleep I finished all the tubing and a bunch of little stuff in 3 hours tops.
