Never had issues with 144hz, now if you do/don't know, you are not going to get any benefits from that refresh rate if you are going at lets say 60fps. That high refresh rate allows it to display 144fps and make it look a lot smoother. Here's a good video going over refresh rates.
alright, thanks for your time/help, was greatly appreciated!
Np man glad I was able to help.
I had a similar issue that was caused by the pixel overdrive or whatever in Catalyst. For whatever reason every time I've had to reinstall windows or whatever, I'll install catalyst and the overdrive will auto to 110% or something and it looks awful until you put it back to 100%
Glad it got resolved!
i dont have overdrive on, honestly have no idea what overclocking is for/can do. i do believe i have a processor that can though
I can't remember the name of the setting, but it wasn't over locking related. It's some obscure setting that's ridiculously hard to find in catalyst. Either way, the symptoms were almost identical, although I believe it also had black bars both vertically and horizontally, iirc.
i dunno, i just looked through twice and see nothing of it haha
Looks like they may have removed it, because I just went through and couldn't find it.
though i also could not find the function of "overscan" that big was telling me to check also. it just wasnt there.
In retrospect I believe the overscan issue only happens with hdmi.
Could've sworn I had the issue using DVI. Don't remember. Might've been on my friend's VG248QE. I'm glad he stopped upgrading to the same parts I did... It got weird when the only difference in our builds was the mobo and ram.
