I have the “1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor - Four Computer”. I’ve been having issues with the spacebar on my Logitech G512 issuing double spaces when I press the button once. I’ve also encountered a similar issue with the G502 Hero mouse. I have tried them on different computers with out the KVM and have not experienced any issues. Has anyone else encountered issues like this?
Try a usb3 port instead of a hid port. Seen that kinda thing from wildly mismatched USB polling rate and mismatched Logitech software versions on the different PCs. Sometimes also the host USB port matters more than you’d think, too.
Has anyone experienced an issue where USB inputs (KB + Mouse) seem to randomly cut out for 4-6s? I’m not sure it’s KVM related, but curious if anyone has seen this behavior before.
My system is a very new X670 gigabyte board running pop os.
What keyboard & mouse do you have? Also, does changing port type (USB-HID to USB 3.0) help?
Is it possible to use a headset with microphone on the 2-monitor/4-DP KVM? I have a 3-ring audio cable between the PC and the KVM, however, I can’t get the microphone to work.

The USB C variants basically are intended for gizmos that basically only have usb video, right? I mean, keyboards and mice don’t use that much bandwidth…and I can’t see plugging a usb drive into a kvm…just want to be sure before I go on a hunt for cash 
Haha xD no dumb questions! You’re on the right track, but let me explain the differences.
The L1Techs CAAB-3112 is data & video in 1 USB-C cable. So yes this is handy for MACs that only have USB-C ports for instance or graphics cards with USB-C output. If you do not have USB-C video you’re probably better off with a display port KVM instead.
The normal display port 1.4 KVMs come in a 5 gigabit (USB-B) or a 10 gigabit (USB-C) variant. The connections will still be display port for video, but you will have a separate USB cable running to your inputs. The USB-C model is handy for high speed/high bandwidth peripherals like external SSDs or high-polling-rate USB-HID devices.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, but nope, it doesn’t seem to help. I’ve actually got my keyboard in a HID port and my mouse in a normal usb 3.0 port and both my input devices stop working for a few seconds randomly. I’ve also verified by plugging in a second mouse directly into my desktop that it’s not a general system-wide USB issue. My second mouse seems to work, so it seems like it’s either an issue with the KVM or an issue with the combination of my KVM + desktop USB ports.
Hm definitely shoot “Wendell at level1techs dot com” an email about it, maybe an RMA is in order.

is the idea of plugging external devices like ssds into a kvm. I would imagine that causes all sorts of headaches if you don’t manage mounting/unmounting properly.

I’m interested in the “1.4 Display Port KVM Switch Dual Monitor - Two Computer” switch.
I was wondering if the following setup was possible:
One of my goals is to avoid having to use DisplayLink drivers on the Macbook, which should be possible by using the thunderbolt ports on the WD22TB4 dock.
Is this setup possible? I was also looking at a ConnectPro dock (which I’m no longer considering), but it listed fiber-optic DP cables as a must for high resolution/framerate passthough. Is that snake oil, or also recommended for my use case?
And one last question, I signed up for restock alerts, but is there any estimate for when the PAAG-ET3122B might be back in stock?

Lol no thunderbolt 4 is barely 40 gigabit so forget dual 4k/120. Kvm handles fhis fine. Thunderbolt 3/4 is trash for enthusiasts however.
I was just looking for dual 4K/60fps over thunderbolt 4, and dual 4K120fps over DisplayPort. I guess that should work then?
I don’t like Thunderbolt either but I was given the Mac for work

Apologies if this is off-topic. I’ve been happily using a Level1Techs 4 x 2 DP1.2 KVM for many years now, but I’m considering switching to an LG C2/C3 42" TV.
There don’t seem to be any HDMI 2.1 KVMs that support more than two inputs, but I’ve recently discovered this “poor man’s KVM”:
Using this, all I would need is a USB peripheral switch, but ideally one with hotkey support. There’s these, but I can’t find anyone retailing them:

Any chance you would be able to offer this or similar? This could be a much cleaner KVM option for those switching to an LG OLED TV - less cable/interference to worry about as input devices remain direct attached via HDMI to the TV.
Also trying to figure out if there’s some way to hack one of the above USB switches + a raspberry pi or similar to handle switching the LG HDMI input with this:
edit: my reasoning for this is wanting:
- KVM for 3 devices to LG TV
- 4K/120Hz with VRR
- eARC
Seems like this is the only way to have all 3 (until a 4xHDMI 2.1 switch comes along, and even then I’m not sure it would preserve VRR?)
Would I be correct in assuming this isn’t going to work?

the 3.5mm connector is for speakers only, not microphone. You can add a $5 usb dac to the mix and get audio and mic though. that switches fine, especially the fully hid compliant ones.

I have a USB DAC but I was just trying to simplify things a bit.
I love my KVM. I’ve noticed though that when I use my mac my CamLink 4K will error out and say the device is connected to a USB 2.0 instead of a 3.0 port but it’s a 3.0 port. To fix this I’ll disconnect the CamLink 4K from my usb 3.0 hub and reconnect and it works after that.
