Nev processor and mobo vs new video card (i swear

just wait a couple years like me. the q6600 will be solid for a long time to come, especially with a great cpu heatsink and solid overclock.

by wait a couple of years you mean wait with my cpu or get the q6600 and wait a couple of years for core i7

what is sli ram? is that any special or anything? do i need it with my 750i

You dont NEED sli ready ram

I know that SLI-ready ram works well in 680 and 590a chipset boards, comes with EPP memory banks, Makes for better, cooler overclocking

i doubt youll be overclocking so some nice dominator or XMS2 would be perfectly fine.

SLI Ram is bascilly, performace with a added name. Its used to rip u off. Get corsair XMS2, Dominator, curcial ballstix

oh ok though it was something mandatory for nvidia boards and no im not overcloking memory or anything only cpu

Well, in that case u wanna get very good ram from the start, cause ur not overclocking them. Better ram will give u better cpu overclocks.

I'll recommend a few

Gskill DDR2 1066 DUAL CHANNEL

CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel

Get the Corsair its the best performance, and i think its on sale on something but its dirt cheap.

i cant mix ram correct like if i buy the dominators i cant use them with my current super talent as the mhz is different and the timings

"performace with a added name. Its used to rip u off"

it is not

lol I have OCZ SLI ready ram in my computer

Its pretty much ram made for nvidia boards that give you ridiculous overclocking capabilities

Its made to overclock and work well with video cards in SLI, it is not a waste of money it is a better solution to ram in the long run because you spend less money and get the same performance as more expensive memory.

;D

Edit: Yes you can Sargeant. Just remember it will slow your dominator down to the speed of your other memory

4 gigs isnt worth it anyway, 64bit os are still buggy and fuck up in a bunch of games

I would just stick with the dominator or XMS2 for now and buy more later on ;D

uhh, ur not susupose to use ram even if they are the same speed. Its not recommend something can go wrong. Only use if they the extra same model, brand.

i really want that 750i with a q6600 man gunna use my current case and then upgrade to better case in future and upgrade video card when the 8600 gt becomes crap it is crap now but like serious crap and ram will be upgraded as well

just make sure you buy better ram when you upgrade your video card because im pretty positive that ram will bottleneck the fuck out of anything from 8800 +

You dont need to get dominator, OCZ has cheap ram like 40 bucks for 2 gigs and its good ram.

yah my ram sucks balls

do i need to upgrade my psu when i get the new mobo and cpu will it use more power than my current crap im useing a generic 600 watt supposedly 600 watt i doubt it highly

that mobo should be fine. only that worries me is if u have enough connectors for everything

that mobo should be fine. only that worries me is if u have enough connectors for everything

yes it will use more power.

You should probably invest in a good PSU seeing as how if your PSU shorts or something it risks killing all of your components connected to it

if you just have like a couple USB devices, a hard drive or two, a single video card and a quad core I suggest at least 500 but personally I would buy a corsair 750.

It will save you from upgrading your PSU later on when you add another video card and more shit like a sound card and whatnot and its also very reliable

plus, they're cheap as fuck right now

ahaha

oh and this XMS2 is a lot cheaper than dominator and it wont bottleneck your system

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184

from what i see the mobo only need a 24 pin connector and theres an 8 pin connector i dont know if i need ot connect that but it comes with a molex to 8 pin in the box but i dont think i have enough molex for fans, gpu etc...

so im basically looking at a whole new build here im going to reuse hdd for now reuse case and dvd burner/player my gfx card for now and ram but its basically a new build but over time -_-

750 watt is a bit over kill dont you think?

its future proof, u ever want to add another 9800 gtx or something like that
