Sound cards are a waste of $ imo... if you need great quality sound go w/ external amp & dac. If you're just wondering if you need it for sound then no, your motherboard already has onboard audio that you can access from the rear i/o panel or the front panel if you connected the hd audio connector.
Depending on which case you get it will have a few fans included just do your research on the prospective cases.
