Ah, that makes sense. I think if they go with it, it will be a very solid choice, as long as they have good long term reliability.

Today I fixed my exhaust. Had to buy a y-pipe as the PO use flex pipe and it rotted out. There was a cat delete welded in so I made a flange and a cone to go from an oval to 2" pipe.
Buddy let me use his shop.

So … back to the 2020 supra talk…
for about 60-67k (depending on if you get the tax credit or not)
you can get a tesla model 3 performance that goes 0-60mph in 3.3 sec vs the '20 supra that goes 0-60 in 4.1sec.

The problems are that while the Supra is ugly, the Model 3 is uglier.
And the Model 3 doesn’t have a dashboard
And the Model 3 has quality issues (we’ll see about the supra)
And the Model 3 can’t have engine mods slapped on it to increase performance.
just software hacking… and you can get the motors to draw more current …
but lets say you buy the supra… and spent the remainder of the money you didnt spend on the model three… do you think you’d get the 0-60mph to 3.3 sec?
I doubt it.
FYI … the model 3 is also electronically limited to 155mph
You’d have to pay me to buy the model 3.
I get that the performance is good, but it’s arguably uglier than the Gremlin.

have you seen the tesla racing channel on youtube? (has a P100D, not a model 3)
im not saying its a pretty car… im just saying its hurt a lot of feelings
The lesser of two evils… is still evil (ugly in this case) so no winner IMO

The 4C is not practical at all… it’s an alfa so it will inevitably require a good deal of maintenance and It has many better performing and/or equipped competitors in its class. To buy this car you need to really love the look of it before all else.
It has decent performance, but it’s certainly lacking in an objective comparison with the market.
