Please let me know if there is a more appropriate category to post this in. I tried to find a good one.
I am setting up my new Level 1 Techs KVM (PAAG-ET3122B) and I need a quick sanity check.
What is the best way to hook up my keyboard (2 USB cables for this, one main and one for passthrough) and my mouse (a single wireless USB chip) to the KVM? Do I need to purchase USB A to USB A cables?
Generally the keyboard and mouse should go into the HID ports of the KVM. However, not all devices may be compatible (see the FAQ [Official] L1Techs KVM FAQ -- Ultimate Guide & Help!). Not sure about the pass-through on the keyboard, but I believe that should go into one of the USB 3.0 ports of the KVM (i.e. not the HID ports).
Why do you think you’d need USB A to USB A cables?
