hey remeber that you dont need z97 with a xeon since you cant overcloxk xeons. h97 is usually cheaper
id go with the 8250 You'd get the most out of it for less. Also, switching to intel would mean you have to buy a new motherboard and reinstall your OS.
My 8350 took me pretty far too. And a lot of games are being optimized for more cores. You don't have to sweat about per-core performance considering they're spreading the load to multiple threads, so they're each gonna have a lighter load.
