One of my favorite channels is Level1Techs!
CHEEKY! I like them a little bit too!
Yeah, sorry. I couldn’t resist.
(But seriously, they are one of my top two favorites, currently)
Vtubers
Maximilian dood plays and talks about fighting games with Passion and convictiom that it’s interesting even if you know nothing about it like me
He also plays non fighting games
I had this same predicament high school. I slowly changed my yt algorithm from gaming to tech to suggesting more educational/developmental/unique content.
The thing that really helped was using firefox container tabs on desktop and newpipe on mobile. I could watch videos on newpipe so that my suggestions stay relevant
In fact I have a whole thread of videos I used to train my algorithm
But here are some of recent videos and channels I’ve watched in no particular order
Joel cameo
Geeze! that’s a lot of YT stuff!
TechnologyConnections
A channel that make seemingly mundane household technology interesting: https://www.youtube.com/@TechnologyConnections/videos
LazerPig
One of the more reasonable and entertaining youtube “historians”: https://www.youtube.com/@LazerPig/videos
QualiaSoup / TheraminTrees
Two channels by twin brothers, one who is now inactive, that were extremely helpful many years ago in helping to finally detangle myself from the harmful things I grew up with. They are imo uniquely eloquent and concise in exploring abuse, manipulation, dogma and other systems of undue influence:
Perun
I LOVE HOUR LONG POWERPOINTS COVERING NATIONAL WAR ECONOMY:
TheOperationsRoom
Historical battle map animations. Desert Storm is a goddamn work of art: https://www.youtube.com/@TheOperationsRoom/videos
Townsends
18th century living, cooking, clothing:
it seems we all like similar things. Once again I seem to be subscribed to several channels you mention.
Dang it, I had to touch all the links… anyways, I tried to offer a cross section of all my interests.
If you’re looking for quality and quantity, Technology Connections, Techmoan, Cathode Ray Dude, LGR, and The 8-bit Guy.
ElectroBOOM is entertaining if you understand the basics. RandomGaminginHD has really good short-form videos and lots of them. Also ‘StezStix fix?’ has fun PCB repair videos.
subbed to all of them except the last one.
I got geoblocked but I hope it contained the topical lyric “I got 13 channels of shit on the TV to choose from”.
I have a few more channels to bring to your attention:
(going live tonight, Jan 14, 2023!)
Canadian ex-pat in Amsterdam on city planning, traffic stuff and more:
Another city planning channel:
One more, just because
HTH!
While I’m definitely not going to watch hours of Patrol dashcam, a brief peek at their stuff led to this gem: Live on Patrol #243 (Jul. 8, 2022) - YouTube
lmao
Some already listed but, mostly educational. The algorithm is garbage:
