i have a ASUS X79 Motherboard and a E5 1680 V2 CPU and a HD6790 , Recently I saw a forum “ Gaming, on my Tesla, more likely than you think”，i feel great , i want to buy K8 or K20 or K20X or M4 or M6 or P4 , but my Motherboard no “above 4g decoding”,so i dont know is it possible to run for Tesla on my X79 MotherBoard 。
Does anyone to Know ?

Impossible to know before putting it in the board, likey not, too old board wasn’t designed with graphics cards with that large of addressable memory
so i cant ues it ？ do you Z77 Motherboard can ues it ?
It’s impossible to know before trying, if it doesn’t have above 4G decoding and it’s old probably not
The extent any motherboard can handle barspace is undocumented, therefore it’s impossible to know if any board is compatible before trying
you feel The most conservative approach is which tesla can i buy it to try ？
if it not to work i think i will to change other motherboard intel or amd
If it does not work, then buy something that does 4G decoding.

It won’t be a problem for future mobo because smart access memory/resizable bar, but older platforms it’s up to RNG
