How to get pass 0d error code

I have Asus crosshair VII hero motherboard
With amd ryzen 7 processor

It’s stuck in 0d error code (Q-code) the manual says it’s reserved for future Ami sec error codes

Pc is not reaching bios screen too only black screen

Please help

Do you have any NVMe plugged? If yes what brand?

Yes it’s Samsung m.2 1tb

I’m asking because I just got Crucial 4TB NVMe and after plugging it I got the same error on ASRock TRX40 board. But if your SSD and MB are different there should be no correlation.

Check if all components (RAM and SSD are on QVL list). Also you can try putting NVMe in different M2 socket.

I see I have replugged the connectors hdd and graphic card , resitted ram sticks so only thing I left is to switch nvme slots
Thank you for the reply it will take around 1 hour for pc components to cooldown then i will change slots

Clear cmos.

I don’t have second pc to get bios firmware file on flash drive . Clear CMOS will solve it alone ?

I mean to find the reset cmos button and press it for 10 seconds to clear it.
The system will remove any overclock (XMP/EXPO). Then you should be able to boot it. You can try to enable XMP/EXPO afterwards.

clearing the cmos wont help if you need a bios update to get the cpu to work.
if you have an android phone you should be able to download a bios and put it on a usb … it will be a chore but can be done (i think android is a linux like distro so as long as you can install a terminal you should be good to go for creating a bootable usb)

if your upgrading from an earlier gen cpu, put that back in, reboot, download a bios flash util and flash your bios.
reboot, turn off, replace the old cpu with the new one and boot the system.
if it works go straight into bios and load optimised defaults.
save and quit… let the system fully boot. go back to bios and set up your ram and other stuff.

I pressed the clear CMOS button for 10 secs

But 0d error code still there

Good point. What’s the CPU?

BTW, the clear cmos button may be on the back IO panel.

Yes it was

My processor is 4700x so it won’t be a issue with bios firmware

the 4700s ?..
and your replacing it with what?.

also check you haven’t connected the pci-e power to the atx power and the atx is corrected properly.

also try using the safe boot button.?

I had the same problem when the Ryzen 7000 series initially came out. I purchased an ASUS X670E board with an AMD Ryzen 9 way back in October. However, I also took a gamble on ECC RAM, and apparently, the BIOS that came with the motherboard was not ready for it. I also purchased a Ryzen 7 to rule out defective CPU, and I was on the verge of purchasing RAM on the QVL which I put on hold to try a cheaper ($0) option: updating the BIOS. After updating the BIOS, the machine started booting all the way past the various error codes I kept getting. 0d was one of the error codes I got amongst several others.

Borrow a computer and download a BIOS update to a USB flash drive.

Sorry for late reply for some reason forum wasn’t opening
I’m not looking for upgrading my processor.
The 0d error code is normal occurrence in my case as it happens almost everyday since last 20 days
After 8-9 hours rest the pc boots up but it didn’t happen today ( ;∀;)

So I made a post to seek it solution

I borrowed OTG cable for my friend so I can download bios firmware from my smartphone
I don’t know how to do it and also which filesystem is needed to format the flash drive into .

Backside i/o shield clear CMOS and bios button were pressed but no further progress on q code showing up

That’s for only overclocking processor i never used it before

Indeed 0d error code is common I always happens when I clean my mid tower insides

then its likely your the cause of it.
disconnect everything… get your psu cable output diagram and connect each connector to the correct psu output… then take each cable and make sure you connect it to the correct connector on the motherboard, the gpu, the hdd’s and anything else that needs power.
check your front pannel connectors to make sure they are connected to the correct terminals.
and make sure your audio is using the right connector (some have ac realtek, other hd audiot on the same cable use the rite one)

once your sure everything is connected…
CHECK AGAIN!.
now try powering on.

the likely cause of the 0d error is an unknown fault that there is no debug info for. so its likely nothing to do with hardware but rather how its been connected together. the motherboard is telling you something aint right. but it doesnt know what.
