Hhhwellll...
There is long, boring and kind of archaic process about poring the Guinness into a glass.
Fill up half the glass, live it rest for a moment, fill up the rest of the glass, let it rest for a moment again and then fill up what space the foam have opened up.
For someone, who don't really like Guinness, try this out and then share is the taste really different.
This is like my fourth time drinking beer but if you had the good stuff (Heineken) that is imported from what I heard is a lot better than the homemade variety. My palette for beer has 'matured' since from the first time that I drank that is I tend to drink strong stuff i.e double espresso coffees now and then.So basically you kinda have to destroy your taste buds to taste other beers from my experience. To start drinking other beers is to take small sip, swish it around a little bit to taste and since you had only Heineken your pretty good to go to taste other beers. Here's a tip if trying Bourbon for the first time I would recommend you have a soft drink/soda pop or something sweet to drink after a shot of Bourbon cause it will burn you when you swallow it. I know people who got used to the burn but I would probably never will.Vodka Cruisers are for pussies my friend imho cause all they taste like is very sweet sparkly cordial with a barely to noticeable touch of alcohol (basically a 12 year old could get drunk off this). I'm still just inexperienced but I hope other members here will correct me if I am wrong.
Wait, you refer to Heineken as "the good stuff "?
From what I heard is that having imported Heineken is a whole lot better than the homemade (In Aus there is the Australian version homemade and the Imported version) variety but hey I didn't taste a lot of beers yet.
My taste of beer is quite limited, but even here, I have tried a Czech beer and all competition is just gone. However, the topic is about Guinness, and I don't like it. It tastes... Awful... IMHO... Don't kill me.
Read my OP post yeah I won't kill you.
I think this is only true when poured from tap. When pouring 'draught' from the can, a slow steady pour, with the glass tilted at a 45° angle is advised. This info was written on a box of Guinness I recently bought. The 'original' may be poured different.
You could be 100% correct. It is how they told me to pour it from tap exactly. Still, this is the only way i know :D
yes, the difference is the water used in the process in Australian Heineken has a lot more chamicals in it and it changes the falvor. Our water tends to be more heavily chlorinated...
some easier to find imported beers that are better than Heineken
trumer pils
Stiegel
Pils Urquel
Budvar (the original Budweiser, made by the Czeck brother who did't go to America and start making shit beer lol)
these are Pilsners, clean like Heineken but with a bit more falvor to them, but in a good way :P
I used to walk past the Guinness brewery on the way to work, smelt good.
I really don't care for Guinness. Get a coopers double or extra (i forget) stout. Way better.
I'm sorry, i need to say this... When i hear the word MILK in a conversation about beer my stomach starts to object to everything... Not to mention i just visually imagined how a milk from a creature like a duck-rabit could possibly be aquired, and my stomach started to object even harder...
Haven't you ever had anything with baileys? Creamy alcoholic drinks are the best.
Milk stouts aren't actually creamy though... they just have a thicker, more mild, sweeter taste.
Guinness is okay, I like it but I would prefer other over it. I actually hated it when I first tasted it but came back years later and loved it.
Many of the craft stouts and porters are far better, Guinness is almost watery in comparison, I will still pick up a few every now and then but not as often and I will always take craft over it. Imperial stouts are a thing to behold if you can find some. Powerful and a big flavour off them, but if you like it then it is fantastic.
Guinness is like chocolate beer to me, so fucking good. out the tap?!? :)~~~
I love me some "girly" sweet liquors, but no. For me beer can't possibly have anything to do with milk. My mind just don't accepts the possibility...
guinness extra foreign is pretty good.
i dont care much for the rest of the guinness line of beers these days.
chocolate beer is good, so is mango beer :P
Mango beer for the win!
