Gigabyte MZ32-AR0 Rev 3.0 Not Posting (CPLD_LED blinking?)

I have had a few issues with my current virtualization set up (MZ32-AR0 Rev 3.0 w/ EPYC 7443P). I am running ESXi 8.0 and while the machine was booting I would have constant kernel panics whenever doing large compilation jobs (ie. LLVM, riscv-gnu-toolchain, etc.). It was strange because I had one VM that would be relatively stable (ubuntu based) where as others would crash almost instantly.

In any event, the issue I am trying to resolve is why the machine is no longer posting… at all. The IPMI Interface remains at “No signal” and the only hint the motherboard LEDs are giving is the CPLD_LED is blinking. I can’t find anything in any of Gigabytes abysmal documentation… I’ve been on the most recent BIOS… and have no idea what to do.

I long for the day I can just use the systems I’ve paid thousands for and not spend equal time debugging their configuration that I do actually using them…

Dead cmos battery?

Tho it sounds like you have cpu or hardware issues tbh
