Currently have a dead pc,looking to upgrade

ebay....
the shipping cost to here would cost almost the same as the card itself, actually :D

I'll consider myself lucky to live in Europe then :-)

I'm trying soo hard here but that is a really tiny budget. With 500 you could do a little better.

Made it around $16 cheaper than what you had, but as he probably dosen't want an aftermarket cooler (he said above, and the SSD he never mentioned anything) (The TX3 is a pretty good small cooler)

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8XNP4D (no SSD or CPU cooler) Just over $400 in the US, but indonesia, I'm not sure is PC parts carry a premium there. (Sorry if I butchered you country's name OP)

get a second hand core 2 quad it's about the same as an 860k and get a r9 380 4gb and 8gb ram you'll probably have that pc rebuilt under budget.

That deepcool cooler is what I use, that's why I recommend it. I got it for 15 bucks in USD so I am sure he could find it for really cheap where he is too.

hey,thanks for replying

SSDs and cooler are not the first priority as i'm on a quite tight budget here
i could deal with a mechanical drive for a while then get a SSD down the road
as for the cooler,i'm not overclocking,so that would not be needed (at least for 1-2 years from now)
it is quite cheap here, but still cost twice as much from the US price ;(
so i guess the money would go to the more critical part like GPUs,thanks for the input :)

relax, you spelled it right and that's the condition here :D
as for your virtual build,i won't be needing a mech drive soon,i have around 7 TBs of external storage and a 350gb 3.5" mech drive laying unused,i'm gonna use my old case and buy a 600watts corsair PSU around 4 months later

ooohhhh, that sounds quite appealing,i'm gonna chek our local forum classifieds for a secondhand core2quad and then calculate the cost, thanks for the input

try to get at least the 3 ghz model if you can.

Well, Core 2 Quad (Q6600?) may be good, but they are almost 7-8 years old o.0 (I may be wrong) but if he got something that is new, then he could make use of it for the next 5 years perhaps?

not if that something new is an ahtlon 860k. it performs almost identical to a core 2 quad and only has minor advantages. on his budget he needs to make use of what he has not blowing money for negligible performance.

The thing is the age of the Core 2 Quad,(My concern) and compatability problems in the future?

compatibility problems such as?...

performance comparison

their scoring isn't ideal but it's one of the few ways to compare cpus 6 years apart.

1400 points difference, I will have no clue what that means.

means 860k is only 20% faster idk what more you want? you're not gonna find actual benchmarks of the two out in the wild lol

Q6600 VS G3258 ^^^^
It won't quite do the 9650 justice as I haven't been able to find an irl side by side comparison
(I can do a comparison with the 860K and G3258 if you want. My friends Rig is coming in for upgrades and I will have access to his G3258 (Which I oc'ed to 4.3Ghz @ 1.3v if I remember correctly) and My own 860k (4.3Ghz @ 1.4V i got a hot chip)

I also know that the 9650 is a 08 chip while the Q6600 is from like 06

jesus fuck they arent that old.
also those settings look to be ultra and that g32 is oced so thats not too fair either we're talking about a non ocable chip here. he'll spend half as much or even less to get that core2quad as aposed to something else and can spend more on the gpu.

I may be retarded but i'm just going by what Intel's website says

it says 08... came out q4 of 08 not 06 you said 06 lol
the only reason im so adamant about suggesting a core 2 quad is he already has the platform and the budget is a measly $400

I was talking about the Q6600 lol
