Crashes

So I keep getting these annoying crashes, I find it’s usually after a wake from sleep or idle or something like that. I was wondering if someone could help me out and figure out what the issue is exactly.

Here is an error message I get before the crash, the system basically only shows open windows, and the task bar disappears etc…

first off reseat the CPU and RAM incase a pin is not making full contact.

if that does not solve the issue then do a couple of runs of memtest

What type of mem test configurations?

full test suite.

something like this tends to point too bad ram or ram controller.

even more so that it happens after sleep

I have never used memtest before, what/where would the options be?

Recommend sfc/scannow plus clean driver installs / possible a simple system restore to an ealier time may work.

http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

just download it and run the default test

Really ? because it seems to point to corrupted system files and/ or driver files to me.

I talked to Microsoft live chat support and they told me it was a disk issue. I scanned my drives and did the fix bad sectors thing and it’s still happening. So I don’t know.

How long do I run it for? I’ve heard memtest86 tests can run forever if you don’t stop them

not 100% but bad ram leads to memory IO issues. more so when its sleep mode because it has to fetch a bunch of stuff from the ram

sometimes reseating the CPU/RAM can fix it because a pin might not be making proper contact.

the longer the better but atleast a couple of cycles to rule out the RAM

Fair enough but i would still take the time to check system files and driver files.

can never hurt to be too sure

That looks like a really ghetto link.

Possible ? Just a basic jist that the error may be other things. Since you posted such limited info on the issue.

That page is a total scam. It just generates a page with a generic description for anything you’re searching for and recommends that you download their tool (malware) to fix it. For example, changing the query string in the URL to kw=totalscam.exe& generates the same page for a program named totalscam.exe (which I just made up).

Edit: The URL has been removed from the original post to avoid sending more traffic to the site in question.

Is there a specific/particular reason for your malicious link?

Take it easy, it’s a rookie mistake.
