Here is how this will go. We will have a movie of the week and then discuss our reactions/thoughts. Discuss concepts and whatever is tied to what we watched.

We will have a weekly poll to decide the film for the week to watch.

If you like what this thread is doing and are a lover of the cinema… There is a thread game about guessing what specific movies are.

So instead of doing a watch party for everyone. We will watch independently. If you are able to do a watch party with someone. That works to. But the point is to watch the film and have your thoughts on it posted here.

Atm, I tried selection a random assortment of movies to vote on. I would like to include weekly genres,. .e. supernatural, horror, scifi, gritty crime, etc.

I already have The Deer Hunter, but haven’t watched it, yet. This is also a good reason to start watching movies more regularly again!

Yea I bought the deer hunter on the suggestion by my parents. They went to see it in theaters for their first date.

Is this just a watch party? Just the host needs the movie?

Or like co-ordinated where we each have a copy, and watch In synchronisation?

We each watch the movie on our own and discuss it here when we are done, at least this is how I understood it. Watching it together will be a problem with people being in vastly different timezones, on different continents and many people having to be at jobs during the day.

Honestly it entirely depends on the movie.
Now I will have a reason to finally watch District 9…
For some movies I can’t bloody shut up… For others I can’t start…

District 9 it is! Watch it by this coming Sunday (8-15-2021) @ midnight EST and we will discuss. For the week of 8-8-2021 we will be watching district 9.

Interesting. I haven’t watched this movie since I was a kid… in the 80s… should be interesting to contrast what I remember from then versus what I see now.

It will be interesting to here what you thought. I am going to watch it today. I have been working from 6:30am till bed at around 9 or 10pm. so im wiped out. Will watch and get back to this thread.
