When you say you werenā€™t able to install the base game, do you mean the install button was greyed out by chance? If so:

Settings > Steam Play > Check

  • Enable Steam Play for supported
  • Enable Steam Play for all other titles

Iā€™m sure it did, but much less, and much less malicious. My own rabid pursuit of zero telemetry is more of a response to current day intrusion, instead of an actual fully thought out idea.
