i.e. cant read a cd-r/w in a cd-r, that its not dvd into a cd-rw etc
otherwise bad magic number usually means not pointing to correct device/device not found, which would mean try probescsi/probeide w.e. and try the other full path/id, but if it boots the solaris disc from the cdrom name or whatever then it should be mapped correctly
