I built over a dozen Ryzen boxes last year, built 5 so far this year, and convinced my SysAdmin to go with AMD EPYC servers last year. Convinced yet?

Ok I finished the first episode to the rollBak a little while earlier. I must say I’m glad (i can’t remember who) stated that IT and Computer stuff isn’t a Sprint but a Marathon and I really needed that at the moment.

Appreciate your support. The rollBak is about to get forked. Hopefully I’ll be up and running by the time you get caught up.

Current Biographies selected for The shell~Bak$

  • Dennis Ritchie
  • Ken Thompson
  • Brian Kernighan
  • Andrew S. Tanenbaum
  • Bjarne Stroustrup
  • Steve Wozniak
  • Eric S. Raymond
  • Guido van Rossum
  • Theo de Raadt
  • Linus Torvalds

Each episode will probably range from 20 to 40 minutes, with my own spin on their origins, contributions, and legacy.

Other, technical topics include:

  • Functional Programming (Haskell)
  • C and csh (FreeBSD and Fedora demonstrations)
  • Python (sys, os, and socket demos)
  • Bash (desktop applications with GUI made with Born Again Shell)
  • Unix and Linux, and You Can Too! (FreeBSD, Fedora, Ubuntu configurations and examples)

Under construction. Still working on the sites and schedule. Just a friendly update.

Yeah, The rollBak is being forked into The shellBak or The shell~Bak$ (working title). Here, we will be diving into the theories, histories, and applications of computing, namely the Unix and Linux operating systems and the languages and constructs that make them possible.

Overall recurring subjects will be C, Unix, Linux, Python, and the shell. Those that have come before and provided the facilities for these subjects, tools, and systems will be part of the discussion as well. I’ll probably alternate historical figure, theory, application, in that order.

Disappointed.

That was intentional. He’s still in time out as far as I’m concerned

He’s notoriously bad at interviews.
