Exactly. Its preposterous that YouTube can take a years salary from him and not even have the courtesy for a phone call.

It's not only that. Tell me how to get ahold of a real person in YouTube?
If you run into an emergency (like when YouTube deleted a bunch of my videos, and then told me I can reupload them because nothing is wrong with them). There is no way of contacting them outside of an automotive system.
On top of this, there is nothing telling you exactly what you did wrong when you got a strike. Because you can't get ahold of someone. You're basically on screwed at trying to figure out things for yourself.
