Xbox 360 controller joystick issues - replacement/fix?

Hi! I have an Xbox 360 controller that I barely used through out the years since I won it as a prize for a Microsoft competition on campus. Recently I’ve been use it a bit more often and immediately noticed that if I slightly tilt the left stick to the left it gets stuck and keeps going even if the spring returned it to center.
I tried some contact cleaner without opening it, but it didn’t work.

How would I go about fixing it? Do you think I can replace the analog stick with an hall effect one to keep the controller working well indefinitely? Thanks!

Replacing an Xbox joystick with a hall effect sensor is entirely possible, but not straightforward at all.

The same channel has videos of taking apart controller analog sticks.

Thanks! That was quite a handful to watch and didn’t really help with fixing my controller. I skipped quite a bit of rambling so maybe I missed something. But I found him messing with a PS3 controller and pointed out that they use “hall effect-like” joysticks. I have a couple of those I could put batteries in and see if I can connect them to Windows/Android easly.
