X870E ASM4242 USB4 Issue / Bricked Controller?

I need some help with my MSI X870E Godlike Motherboard specifically with USB4 / ASM4242.

I attempted to update firmware for ASM4242 /PD via MSI Center and while the install appeared to complete OK i have had nothing but issues with USB4 since, namely it has vanished from my system, and I think the controller might be bricked.

I am running Windows 11 26H2

Current bios version 7E48v1A75

Current chipset drivers 8.09.28.1124

Nothing installed in M.2_2 slot on the board

I keep seeing a crash event in Event Viewer

Have you asked at MSI’s forum?

You might also be able to try uninstalling the device in Device Manager and then rebooting, which will force the OS to reinstall it from scratch.
