Researching for a proper replacement of my ASUS B550 board, someone here recommended X-Series chipsets. Perhaps i’ve not read enough posts here, but it ain’t the X470 board in the title.
The BIOS doesn’t even have options for IOMMU.
Here’s the result - all PCIe cards south/downstream of the X470 bridge end up in the same IOMMU group - same as my B550 board.
Does the X570 chipset behave differently, i.e. separates each slot in its own group?
I guess, if i keep insisting to pass whole devices, i’ll have to patch and compile a Kernel.
Edit: for fairness’ sake, i should clarify that this mobo has 2 x16 sockets directly wired into the CPU - lane sharing @ x8/x8 when a card is present in the second slot - with proper IOMMU separation. It’s just not enough for the girls i wanna go out with.
