WS WRX80E-SAGE SE PCIE ReDriver physical layout

Esoteric q:
Does anyone know which physical redriver chip is responsible for which pcie port?

I’ve got corrosion on one of mine, and would like to avoid using that one if possible.

Your ram is naked - you should get a copper heatsink.

How do you know those are the redriver IC’s?

Googled the model numbers.

I’ve never seen corrosion like that, it almost looks like the one is already burnt out. You can swap it, or if you check the warranty I feel like ASUS should fix it.

I’d say the 6 chips on the back closest to PCIEx slots are the ReDrivers for the graphics card.

The ones in your picture go right into the CPU

Dang it that’s what I was afraid of, it’s also occasionally giving me C5 errors when booting. Running through some memory tests now.

And yeah, its pretty weird that its that one spot.

As far as I know every single C class error is memory or memory related. Not saying you should do anything further with your memory other than test it, and put a copper heat-sink/jacket.

I’d say those redrivers might get pretty hot under high load, I’ll put a heatsink on mine because I bet they got hot on your MB. If ASUS was suppose to do that from the factory, not sure.
