Would a proxy help?

Hey guys, I have a linux question. To start off, every morning I have my coffee and try to read the new off my ipad. I'm using the news app by apple to get the news from various website. The problem is that it is very slow and locks up quite often. I have a linux box that is running a few services including an ftp site. So here is the question. Is there a service, maybe a proxy, that can pull the articles downs and stores it, so I can access them locally?

You can always run Squid Proxy so that everything runs through it, so once it loads its cached locally. May increase load speed.
