In the past you could only buy it with real money, but since 2012 you have been able to buy it with credit that you earn in game.
this has been a thing for ... 5 years now.... so ... your point is?

When you had to buy money for it almost no one used them. The only time you would use them it was in Clan Wars which did not effect the random battles, being a good team in Clan War would give your clan gold.
It's still the dumbest thing in existence. Ever.
It's a Free to Play game it need to make money.

Haven't seen many that play with free account without premium vehicles and are spamming gold. So it's still kinda real money paid premium ammo

They put out mission that if you complete you get a premium tank for free. I watch a YouTube called Sam Lockhart who I has not bought a single Premium tank, he done several of the mission to earn them.
I have earn some Premium tanks as well, (T25 Pilot, Pz IV, T28 Concept, T23E3, Dicker Max, IS-5, Lowe. T14 [x4 time])
I give use this tank for free (LTP, L-60, T1E6, T7 Light, BT-7 art., Toldi III) low tier give out during special event like X-mas.
IS-5, T23E3 - won in Clan Wars
Dicker Max, T25 Pilot, Pz IV, T28 Concept - won in mission
Lowe - Won in a ELC racing that the all Reddit clan put together.

He certainly doesn't. The little bit of information he's leaving out is that these events are stat grinding events. Get x amount of EXP, then play x amount of battles, then win x amount of games to unlock the next mission where you again grind x amount of EXP within the time limit (usually 3-14 days) THEN unlock a tank. If you're somebody who plays for 2-3 hours a day without boosters or premium account access you'll almost never complete these missions.
If Wargaming can't get your money they'll certainly get your time.

I have indeed. Just wondering how that 20% pay that 80% premium ammos? I've been playing wot since closed beta and uninstalled it after first "hey, buy gold worth of 100€ and get unbalanced p2w statpadding tank for free". WG was not as bad as Gaijin (War Thunder), but they are slowly getting there.

How that different from what Overwatch does with the loot boxes. The whole thing go down to is your time worth more than money or is your money worth more than your time. FWI I do not use the boost or premium account time, I have earn premium time but I have not bought it and I complete so of the mission. Right now in my garage it say I have 99+ boosters.
