now that we are getting fiber providers, i guess i’m at their mercy for an ONT instead of a router? try and claim the FCC you an use your own modem clause?

You do know that the ont is also the modem right?
Got fiber internet earlier this year and they provided an ont and a router. The router they provided is shit and replaced it anyway but that’s cause I know better!

Yes but, some argue that since some claim it isn’t modulating and demodulating.
I called them and to my surprise they do offer an ONT so you can use your own router!!! Most shove their garbo routers on you.
