Hello,
I want to replace my 24'' monitor with a 27'' or 29'' new one . Can any of you help me with some tips?
I want a monitor with at let a resolution from 2560*1080 or 2560*1440 and an ips pannel
I mostly nead it for more room desktop space but i think gaming on such a big screen would be nice
i seen this one from lg

(only here its not $ 628 but € 424)
is this a good one ? or should i go for another resolution? some of you have a monitor like this?
thanx and sorry for my bad english
greetings
I would recommend the ASUS PB278Q 1440p monitor. Very good panel, with absolutely no compromise. I think it is an acceptable price to pay for a high quality panel.
No need to apologise for bad English. English people are worse.
mmm thats a nice one two thanx!
its 80 euro's more than the lg ... whats nicer for gaming 2560*1080 or *1440?
and watching movies is the first resolution not better for movies? (21:9)
thanx for the quick responds!
1440p is better for gaming. 2560*1080 is like 2 1080p monitors side by side with no gap between them. 21:9 is kind of weird to game with. Its better to use 2560 for video editing but is not optimal for gaming.
21:9 just looks... weird. Interesting no doubt and maybe has its ups, but not for general use I would think.
As for a good panel, look at getting a Crossover 27qw for $300 on ebay. Got one and I love it, one stuck pixel that is somewhere to the right, I only know it's there when I have a blank white screen up and I'm scanning for pixels. kinda hard to notice that one out of over 3 Billion.
Anyways, you can also look at the Qnix and X-Star panels, little more expensive than the Crossover I mentioned, but they even overclock to 96 and sometimes even 120Hz!
EDIT: one of the bigger complaints about these monitors is the light bleed. You will never get none with IPS/PLS no matter how much you spend, $300 or $1000, but, personal experience, the crossover has very minimal. Never notice until I'm looking at dark black screen.
I don't really see any backlight bleed on my ASUS. Might be hard for some to believe. However, when you spend this kind of money you don't have to contend with dead pixels and other problems that might occur.
Blacks are a nice deep black, and the light is balanced all the way around the panels. No bright spots.
hello,
i think i made up my mind
http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2711-27-inch-Widescreen/dp/B0039648BO/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1388063803&sr=8-9&keywords=Dell+U2713HM
what do you think of this ? it would def. be a *1440 res. instead of 2560*1080 i agree that thats weird esp. for gaming
the dell got some nice reviews also
WAIT JUST ONE MINUTE!
There's a seller on Ebay who sells 1440p monitors for about $300 and they're equally if not better than that Dell monitor. Logan and Wendell even made a video about the monitor and they stated that it was an amazing deal for the money.
